I've been playing the FFT remake a lot recently, and I'm amazed at how patient I must have been as a child, watching these characters slowly go through their motions without the benefit of a fast forward button. It feels sort of like a ten player board game, each player taking their turn, thinking about their moves, doing their dice rolls; like, you can imagine what a ten character turn based RPG would feel like!
And yet I love the game even with those flaws. It's weird how engrossing it can be to watch a battle unfold. Yeah, it's slow, but it's all deliberate, and a single move can change the whole course of the battle; it's slow, but it lives up to its genre of being a tactical RPG.
I'd recommend checking out FFT, but Destiny 2 and FFT are such drastically different games that I can't tell you for sure that you'll like it.
Anyway, FFT is a perfect game and I've missed the hell out of it, it's great to play it again, nothing feels quite like a Monk head punching some dude to death.

I've only ever played FFTA, this sounds like a good excuse to finally try FFT.

Played Final fantasy tactics on VBA version, having slightly over 50% chance to hit even when you're behind feels like that one X-COM meme Ended up rushing it with cheat engine because I was too young and impatient back then

I'll check it out.

It's easy to play a turn based game without a fast forward button until you have one. Played through most of the story of World of Final Fantasy without the fast forward and had no problems. Started using it in the postgame, and I could never go back. Seeing everyone cast their spells at normal speed just feels so slow. :p
I'd recommend checking out FFT, but Destiny 2 and FFT are such drastically different games that I can't tell you for sure that you'll like it.
You're in Offtopic. Most people down here don't play Destiny anyway.

D&D... even with 4 players one battle can last over an hour....the tangents and triple checks on abilities and rolls shuffling papers for item descriptions...long winded descriptions of the combat areas to utilize skills or find environmental explts....such fun I miss playing...
