After Offtopic

It the Bungie forums disappeared tomorrow, what will you do? Where will you put this energy from here to? Other Offtopic forums, IRL stuff, or even browsing IG reels, where will you go to?

  • Nowhere. Would like to prune the social media as is. Not signing up for new platforms is pretty easy. Breaking away from older ones is harder. If one shuts itself down, it'd be kinda doing me a favor.

  • I hardly ever post here anymore, but I created my first account in 2007 so I've seen some stuff. If these forums disappeared tomorrow, I would be sad. But all things come to an end.

  • I don’t think I would go anywhere else. A shame, but I haven’t really seen any other good forums of a nice size. They’re all either huge or, like, dead-dead. No posts for months levels of dead. I’ve always preferred forums to chat groups like Discord, but Discord would work well enough, I suppose. Shame it wouldn’t work great for meeting new peoples as much, though.

This is the only online forum I come to so once it's gone, I'll simply go back to talking to myself. I tend to agree with my opinions so there're less disputes and besides, I've always found my sense of humor delightful so there's plenty of laughter.

    • I spend more time talking to my girlfriend than I do on here so I’d just continue on as normal :3

      • About 15 years ago this kinda happened when the site updated: The site was barely usable and a lot of people stopped posting and many private groups basically died -- it took them a bit to get the forums usable again. I basically took a long break from the website, I guess it'd be permanent this time but the forums mean a lot less to me than they do now.

      • Probably take an old milk crate that I have and go rant in the city park. Have to practice waving my fist in the air first. I just know that people want to hear how wrong they are about everything. Kind of a public service.

      • What energy? There is no energy here besides schizophrenic ramblings and celebrity deaths.

        • I’m not sure why I’m still here. I only came back because I thought they’d start a Marathon forum. If these forums close down for good, I’ll just spend more time on Discord. It doesn’t suffer from the same algorithm and advertising brainrot that other social media wants to constantly bombard you with. You can switch off channels you’re not interested in and focus on the stuff you like to engage with. The only annoying thing it does is an occasional recommended channel, but it’s small fry in comparison. I also don’t think the format is quite as good as a forum, but I’m getting used to it.

        • There is nothing here. Embrace the nothingness, join us in the abyssal hell.

        • Well given that I'm a corporeal being existing outside of online spaces, probably something there...
