Im hitting a point where I simply cant use anything in my vualt, because infusing up from 200 is too expensive. I have had to see out lower power drops to stepping stone my item's level up.
This wasnt as much on an issue when I was hitting the softcap before, but now its feeling particularily bad.

Brother, I have 999,999 unstable cores, I wish there was a trading system, i would give you mine 😂.
-
Unstable cores are an issue the higher you get. Especially if you spent time farming the loot cave for Aion Adapter armor, which ONLY drops at 200. Sure, I can do Sieve and get it up to 300 (because Kepler does NOT drop beyond 300), but then it costs 10k if I want to infuse that up to 450. It ends up being cost prohibitive to level up a few builds to have ready for master raids, dungeons, or the unexpected to improvise on the go. Especially when power level matters and you don't get brought up by others. Or worse, you're the one people are relying on to bring up their level. Like when I'm helping other clan mates and friends through higher content. I consistently try to keep 60k cores on hand at least, but upgrading my titan for the epic raid gutted my cores. I went from 120k down to 20k just to have 2 titan builds and a warlock build ready to go.
-
The issue I have with it is that cannot try different builds as the cost is astronomical and I play on 3 characters. So in their mind, I have to now go and play a sh.tload of regurgitated content in order to delete new items (which might be good) in order to upgrade items. That's where they loose me.

Bungie: We're removing legendary shard because its hard to determine how much things should cost. With some people have 100's of thousand and some only have 5k." Also Bungie: "Here are unstable cores, now you NEED 30k+ for 1 armor or weapon infusion so these are ultimately 10x worse than Shards."
-
I'm up around the 500k mark for them, as I've reached the point in the game where the T5's are dropping at exact rolls that I already have. I got to the point where i was struggling with the cores and then l stopped infusing everything that l had in my vault. Hopefully one day they get rid of this silly system

sooooo was bored last night... logged on for first time in a few weeks ... tried to infuse an Unwavering Duty that for some reason dropped at 200 even tho am at 340+ and it required over 3K cores .... remembered why I stopped logging on sooooooo ... bye again

I'm baffled by this. I have 3 450+ characters and constantly upgrading gear and have 400k cores almost always so i rely don't understand this lack of cores? Are you guys not dismantling junk gear? I play casually and never once ran into core issues. Prism and shards i run short on but just run a few things and restock. I guess if you're just upgrading lots of random stuff idk but doesn't make any sense to me. Of all the issues in game unstable cores I'm fine with and I personally like the inventory management of the game. Bungie focus on more activities and substance in story and gameplay
-
I'm constantly maxed out on cores because nothing's better than the pre-EoF stuff - with the exception of the Bushido set and Mint.
-
Not only do unstable cores drop like rain (I’m sat on around a million)but if you are infusing every single thing in your vault that’s user error. There’s no need to do so.
-
Wait until they wipe out your stock pile with Renegade… seriously who designed this new unstable core system with seasonal reset and thought: “that sounds fun”.
-
We had upgrade modules that worked perfectly fine but no, can't let us have any permanent stuff so let's change it to unstable cores with more grind and expiry date to keep players on the hamster wheel
-
Try going to saint 14 . You can buy armour that if I remember is at 200
-
It’s how they sun set without sunsetting lol raise the price astronomically
-
Feeling like leaving the game entirely
-
Wait.... you are infusing everything in your vault as well?
-
pretty easy to grind lower level content and get tons of unstable cores. can easily grind thousands in no time at all.
-
The whole point of this currency was to keep us from using old weapons and armor not realizing it affects all feature exotic weapons and armor. They need to nerf the cost heavily or get rid of it entirely because all it's doing is hurting us
-
I wouldn't be that fussed about bringing old gear up... if you can get into the habit of using new gear, you may find that infusion costs will be glimmer, or a relatively low amount. Gear for pvp/raids... I still use pl 10 gear and it makes no difference! Also; you'll just have to do it all again when Renegades arrives and everything resets to 200, so why bother now?
