The only reason to level up after the announced update in the TWID is just higher tier loot. That's it. You don't become stronger which is the very point of a level system. You level up so you can play at a higher difficulty so you can nerf yourself so you can become eligible to improve your RNG and get slightly better gear. No one asked for this. And the fact you're excluding conquests from this too is utter nonsense.
Like I have said many times before, if we shouldn't be allowed to benefit from leveling up, you should have no say in how easily we get the best rewards, especially when they're locked behind level/ guardian ranks.
At this point, Stupendium couldn't be any closer to how accurate this game fits one of their videos on YouTube. It really is just grinding to earn the right to grind to earn the right to give ourselves the right to earn the right to grind to earn the right to give ourselves the right to earn the right to earn better loot that'll be replaced in 3 months.
Stop lying to your players for once. There's no reason to level up if your reward for doing so is having to play on harder and harder difficulties to get the same rewards after a point. This change is only benefitting match made fireteam ops due to those going from -50 on ultimate for example to -30, those are becoming easier provided scoring is increased to compensate.
But you're forcing a power delta everywhere else where players could over level and barely have to increase the difficulty at all. I can go into a solo op and get A rank rewards at 495 just for turning on Pressure Cooker and Extinction and I'd still be able to turn on 1-2 boons for barely a projected A rank and I'm still getting A+ if I'm fast enough. You CANNOT come close to justifying this forced delta change unless you increase scoring accordingly to the point you don't have to turn on any modifiers at all to get A+. Who do solo and pinnacle ops need to suffer so fireteam ops can become easier, but you conquests, which I can almost guarantee none of you guys at Bungie can complete the GM or Ultimate ones without dev mode enabled, are left untouched.
If we shouldn't benefit from leveling up, you shouldn't have any right even as the game developers to tell us what we have to do for maximum rewards. And when your game is:
* Hemorrhaging players
* You just threw away roughly 11% of what was left because you don't support that country in it's war with another (which allowing them to play doesn't benefit them in the war effort btw)
* Sellers such as Steam are giving out refunds for EOF and Year of of Prophecy long after the return policy has likely expired for most as a result of those country wide bans, because that's basically what they are
* And your company is being sued by at least 3 different people all for theft/ plagiarism last I heard, this is more like you trying to kill your game before your ONLY OTHER KNOWN GAME IN DEVELOPMENT THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DECLARED DOA can "save" your company
I'm not a business man, developer, nor have I studied law, but all of these don't sound like things you should be doing when your game is basically on life support again. I've been here since D1 beta and I'm finding it difficult to do much of anything at this point because of one bad decision after another. Really the only thing I've been hopping on for is to try and get a better roll for Solemn Remembrance.
