Idea was put forward by a marketing bro to force player numbers. Nobody who plays games for fun thought of that.

I don't blame you; I have no intention of doing it either.
-
You got this! You’re almost at 400. 🥳
-
I just hit 425, and I ain't gonna' bother trying for it. The pinnacle spike is so unbelievably bad. Yeah, let me waste my time doing high end content just to have a +1/2 increase.
-
I got to 400 playing one, or two days a week ... that's all I can stomach, because this game is so -blam!- boring.

Forever 10 😎

Totally agree. I quit the game after being a D1 day 1 veteran due to these changes. I wouldn’t care if it was some arbitrary number but they tied loot tiers to it so it’s now pointless doing any end game activity unless you grind solo ops for hundreds of hours beforehand. They’ve tried to make a model that reduces development costs, increases play time and maximises micro transactions. It’s too much for me.

At this point, Bungie needs to just revert the Power Level to pre-EoF. Nobody enjoys the current system, and Bungie is taking their time in making it more bearable. This should be at the top of their priority list, nothing else.

Edited by Racket UK: 9/26/2025 2:05:21 PMYes there's no point in getting to 500, I'm 516 , and getting rewards that are at my level 90% of the time or 3 less, and enemies +40 power, with insane damage against you like 66.6% void and 25% solar. I can farm ultimate for 12 hours and go up 2 levels, bungie is a ripoff company, and 100% liars.

No need to either. I didn't get to 450 last season, and i didn't lose out on anything. Got all Conquests done anyways. And that is all Power does, it just allows you to do a higher difficulty.

No reason to. This is a video game, not a job.
