The last two campaigns have been solo worlds. I am mostly a solo player but the most fun I had sometimes was just running around the open planets doing patrols and public events with other random players. Pale heart was fun and It was a new experience but that should not be the route for every expansion. We need a new planet with new public events. Either that or bring back the relevance of the old ones. Make them worth playing again. I still run around the other planets grinding public events for glimmer and just to mess around but it gets old fast once my glimmer is full and everyone else disappears. Some of the old planets brought back would be nice too. Kepler is really underwhelming. I was happy that we were getting a new planet but it feels more like a lost sector than a whole open world especially without patrols public events and most of all the other players.

Absolutely agreed. Public patrol spaces are what Destiny was built on... beating heart of any space. To make relevance, throw in Prime drops every now and then for activities completed... PEs for instance. That in itself should be enough.

Yeah I so miss the old days of the open worlds doing public events, even running around seeing someone doing something helping them with it but now there is nothing but the portal. They need to even change the Pale Heart and Kepler so there are weekly events to complete to help with the grind and resources, give us some variety in our game play.

Ya. The open world zones are what made Destiny special. So Many good Memories. Randal the vandal. The enemy is Moving against each other…Urzok the hated. Protect the blueberry. Just chilling waiting for the Rare public events that dropped that legendary every week(back when a legendary dropped was special). Remember when vault of glass started in open world and you could help out raid teams? Fun times.

This is the unfortunate side effect if everybody complaining that they can't do things solo. The monkeys paw curls another finger.

The problem is game size IMO. This game needed a new installment to get this convoluted mess under control. The game is just collapsing under it's own weight at this point.
-
😂😂You all begged and cried to Bungo for years about having solo experience. Your social Anxiety. You not liking people. Introverts. You wanted this. They gave it to you. Many told you that would be a bad idea. Well, there ya go.

Edited by whateverman7: 9/25/2025 8:32:49 PMThis is what people asked for when they kept complaining about a multi-player game not being solo friendly enough. Also, another thing the community asked for was to keep as much old stuff in the game, while adding new stuff. The game is already huge, at the point of breaking, so they can only add so much huge new stuff, like explorable areas. We get a lot of new stuff, it's just smaller in size. They gave the community what they asked for, now the community doesn't want it. The tale as old as time when it comes to destiny lol.

I'd do away with patrol zones entirely at this point, its been 11 years and they have been consistently pointless. Just give me strikes, raids and crucible maps instead

Professional A$$ Kicker - old
You all asked for “solo” crap and we told you -blam!- idiots that destiny isn’t a solo experience. Same bullshit happened with the exotic class item mission. “But…but I can’t pway wif people bcuz am anexity intwovert” -blam!- off ya dum -blam!-. -
D2 isn’t feeling much like a multiplayer online game anymore. Agreed.

We hear you

Yeah I want destinations in new expansions to go back to the old style with large open spaces, patrol beacons, public events and other players running around too. The Pale Heart is a nice destination to roam around but really feels boring and lonely not having other players there. When Edge of Fate was announced I was looking forward to having a new destination with all of the usual things like the others but was really disappointed when I realised that it was another solo destination and now I'm worried that Renegades will not have any actual patrol zones😒.

Ya it's empty I miss people watching in patrol spaces I found a lot of hidden things in the dreaming city just watching people made it fun just to wander around but now....it's boring and with the game being spoiled week one I can't even turn on YouTube till after I get the storyline done and all the content farms of faster this and all locations of that......it's depressing that I feel the need to rush the story just to avoid spoilers it's stressful and drains the fun right out....

I knew ahead of time that Kepler would not have public patrol and it was the main reason why I didn’t buy the expansion and went with “Free to Play”. They were abandoning a facet of the game I really enjoyed, so for the first time I did not spend money on a DLC.
-
It's not just open world that needs to return, but also seeing other players in that world. The Pale Heart is a good example of this.
-
I have no problem either way. But u say about relevance of public events. Like many even turn them heroic. Esp the walkers, they don't bother doing it not like it was on titan

I agree 100%. Public Patrol locations always made the Destiny universe seem alive. It was a cool and rather unique feature. The last three destinations have not been public. A direction I saw coming after The “Empty” Heart. Now, Destiny 2 seems like a game without a soul.
