IB drops too little IB loot.
Why in the world would you cram all this other stuff into the loot pool?
The new handcannon almost never drops to begin with, and i gotta deal with all the regular RNG that comes with gear on top of now having to deal with the atrocious matchmaking and a bunch of gear i can get from the crucible when its not IB.
Tell me you are trying to pad the player engagement metric without telling me you are trying to pad the player engagement metric. Guess i might have answered my own question there.

I played the hell out of Iron Banner all week and barely got any of the Iron Banner armor. Got a bunch of other stuff, but what I really wanted to do was farm a few solid Iron Bamner sets. I didn't get to do that. In terms of power grind, the other pieces definitely helped with power level, but Bungie, we play Iron Banner for a reason. We've loved the lore of Iron Lords. We play Iron Banner for the theme. Honestly, Iron Banner is something I'd dare say the majority of us still get excited about.

I just wanted to get the gauntlets for my Titan to complete the IB set, but kept getting the regular crucible armor items. So I gave up, and it killed my desire to play on my other characters as well. Funny thing is, I completed the Event Ranks, didn't get a full set of armor, that's a problem.

Hard agree. I got a couple items (i mean literally two weapons) in several hours of playing and technically one if you saw how unusable one roll was. I get lots of armor that I deleted and got enough cores to upgrade one gear piece once but I shouldn't be playing hours of Iron Banner for the sole purpose of trying to beat the broken Unstable Core economy....

Events should have their own loot pool for the playtime to be meaningful. Iron banner exclusives seem to have lower drop weights as well. I clear out inventory once a week. I've 64 pieces of crucible armor and 25 of iron banner right now. Same for weapons, remove the world drops from the loot pool and reduce their drop weights already.

At this point I've missed out on my god roll Phonetria Fera (which is what i was farming IB for) twice now and wish i could farm it. I did get like 400 armor sets though... wow so cool (not)... i did manage to get the new crossbow though and I guess that made me happy enough to not make my own post although i probably got like 15 weapons total from like 100 matches this week and only like 7 of those 15 were IB weapons...

1 ReplyThis new portal system has screwed over drops in general. Each portal activity loot pool has 10+ drops. There needs to be multiple focus drops and they need to actually drop not be based on luck. On top of that, if there are multiple portal activities, PVE or PVP, then each one needs to have one or more focus drops. Limiting activities by day or by week or because it’s an LTM does not encourage nor incentivize anyone to play. We want MORE reasons to play not less.

Not just that, the mark has refused to drop for me in the whole week. Plus pvp sucks right now. All spectral blades, invis and threadlings at every corner.

yup. you answered your own question. I only got one phone cannon from ib but I got my desired perk (one-two punch) during arms week. I'm level 350 but all my armor drops on hunter have been tier two. I've gotten tier threes and fours on Titan and warlok. Don't care about crossbow. Low drop chance, with likely crap perks if it drops.

1 ReplyI wish it dropped as a knock out system, so over several match your are guarantee a full set. I almost got all three sets but had a few pieces missing here and there.

I actually don't mind, makes when you get a good roll actually feel like something special. If they added a few decent guns to regular crucible that were super rare it would give me something to play for.
