Series X, Atmos output to 5.1.4 Atmos system
Audio has been popping here and there since loading the game after updating. Audio just popped loudly and went out completely for the last match.
Reboot of the system restored audio, with apps and other games tested to have zero issues.
This issue is only present on Destiny 2 on the Xbox Series X and started immediately after update.

Edited by DarkMart: 10/31/2025 3:47:13 AMSame pop with my Samsung Q990F, when i switch from XBox menu to the game. It's worst in Dolby Atmos.

I have just returned with the new update and it’s still happening. Lost all audio from Sonos soundbar. Need to restart to get it back or play on my headphones. Any details on if a fix is incoming this century?

3 RepliesSame issue here. 5.1 surround sound with a Denon 3500H reciever. Played D2 on Xbox for the first time in a while tonight. My sub made a loud pop and rear were speakers popping on/off. Then no audio at all. Went into XB audio settings and got it working again. Shut everything down, unplugged and tried again, same issue. Tried apps on Xbox and a different game. No issues. Just one more reason to not play Destiny. I have too much invested into my home thearter setup to have a Destiny bug blow it up. Last straw for me. Bye bye Bungie.

1 ReplyIt's the same for me, having to play on TV only or headset as I don't trust the game won't frag my system. Damning that this hasn't been acknowledged yet

Same here. distortion pop on login, then multiple pops, then silence for the whole box home/UI. Literally unplayable, which is the last thing that they need right now.

1 ReplyEdited by Ryoga303: 9/24/2025 6:23:17 PMGlad to see it’s not my equipment! Xbox Series X, Denon AVR-X6800H, discrete 7.2.4 speakers (all top-end Klipsch except the two subs are SVS). Premium HDMI cables. I’ve powered everything down, even unplugged it all from power for half an hour, and hooked it all back up only to find that didn’t fix anything. This was never an issue before the patch last week. No other inputs to my receiver or games on my console exhibit this behavior. Bringing up the Xbox panel or dismissing it while Destiny 2 is running causes such loud pops that I genuinely fear for my equipment! The same popping occurs wherever I dis/connect my headset. At first, I suspected it was my USB headset causing the issue wherever I plugged it in, so I bought a whole new one only to find that did not change anything with regard to the popping. This is intolerable, Bungie!

1 ReplyI thought it was just me. But yeah, my Xbox X series is doing the exact same thing the OP posted about.. No word from Bungie huh? Awesome

Yeah, same issue. My Sonos Soundbar has been making a popping noise each time I log in, sounds bad, I go into the Xbox audio settings, preview and it seems to be fixed for a few Crucible rounds then comes back again. Really frustrating.

Same happening here. Atmos to sound bar, reckon they fouled something else up. Loud pop, followed by no sound until I restart Destiny, all day, over and over. Great for getting those IB steaks! Tom said it best, STOP MAKING ME NOT WANT TO PLAY YOUR GAME. I'm sure the fix for now is turn off all the cool audio stuff you paid for, stereo uncompressed it is, neato! Bet it doesn't fix it...

Nothing to say Bungie? I can't even launch the game with Atmos sound now, I have to use DTS which sounds horrible and "tinny" in comparison. Will this be like the armor mod bug, where you ignored it and pretended it didn't exist for over a month, until you supposedly fixed it?

The game is literally falling to bits in front of our eyes. 😆

1 ReplyTwo matches, happened again. I promise you Bungie, if you blow out my super expensive receiver and/or speakers, I will be sending you the bill.
