This time it is the end of Destiny as we knew it.

Renegades is "drawing inspiration" from Star Wars by Bungies words. Yet it looks like it is just Star Wars with a Destiny skin. This franchise is in my eyes, at least in the current hands, creatively bankrupt. The Ash & Iron "major update" shows clearly Bungie doesn't understand anymore what made Destiny 1 such a success and what makes Destiny Destiny. This is likely the end. It was fun while it lasted. Edit: On a further note, I am glad Lance Reddick (Zavalas OG Voice Actor) doesn't have to witness this decline. He would be ashamed what the game has become as a player himself.

  • They HAVE to know the financial prospects of Marathon are next to nothing at this point. I can't imagine why theyre still banking on this garbage. Also can't believe Sony is still pushing it knowing what happened with Concord in recent memory.

  • "This time......." So every other time people said the same thing it didn't count, but it really does now? And then you added in "This is likely the end." You seemed so certain with your title though...... Also, a real classy move throwing that Lance Reddick line in at the end; as an afterthought no less. 🙄

    • "What made d1 a success" so false promises, showcasing a different story and releasing a game without one, having almost 0 content, cutting content but forgetting to remove it from marketing, and a very repetitive and grindy game?

      • If Bungle were smart (and they aren't) they would postpone the launch of Renegades and fix the current state of the game. Continuing along the current path is extremely denialist and tone deaf and - in my opinion - runs the risk of Renegades being the final expansion.
clearly Bungie doesn't understand anymore what made Destiny 1 such a success
Newness. Reputation of bng Halo. Reputation of atvi/call of duty. A story. Some mystery. Fpsrpg gun game. Random loot. Playing with others.
and what makes Destiny Destiny.
The immersion. In d1 waking up and being thrown into action, developing a character. Feel of play. D1 was fun in that it was simple. "Live service" has made d2 too complicated and drifted away from simplicity, even in vanilla d2. The portal tried to make the game interface simple but made it more sluggish than vanilla d2. Having to slot strike mods in nightfall cards was removed in forsaken. Edit: D1 didn't "grade" us either did it?
