The Game is Too Hard for Solo Players to Progress

Hello Bungie Team and community, I'm writing today to provide some feedback on the current state of Destiny 2 for solo players. I've been a long-time player, but recently the game has become so challenging for those of us who primarily play alone that I've lost the desire to log in. In fact, it's starting to feel more like a chore than a game. My main issue is that I've hit a progression wall. To get any meaningful loot at my current Power Level, I'm constantly pushed into high-difficulty activities (Pinnacle-level content). The game often defaults to this difficulty, suggesting it's appropriate for my level. However, the reality for a solo player is quite different. I just hit a wall. These activities are incredibly punishing when you're alone: * Limited Revives & Overwhelming Odds: You are defeated very quickly. The sheer number and strength of the enemies are simply overwhelming for a single player who has to deal with all of them alone. * The Timer is a Solo Player's Worst Enemy: Even if I play cautiously and manage to get far into an activity, the strict time limit becomes a major problem. As a solo player, I'm naturally about three times slower than a full fireteam. When the timer runs out, any extra revives I've painstakingly earned can disappear, leading to a quick death and a trip back to orbit. After investing a significant amount of time and effort, ending up with nothing feels incredibly disrespectful of my time and is extremely demotivating. The core of the problem seems to be that most endgame activities are balanced for a three-person fireteam and do not scale properly for a solo experience. As a solo player, you are the *only* target for every enemy on the field. The enemy's attention is never divided. Despite this, there are no balancing adjustments for solo players: * Time limits are not extended. * The number of enemies is not reduced. * The strength of enemies (especially bosses and champions) remains scaled for a full team. I am a regular, working player who wants to relax and enjoy Destiny 2 in my evenings. I've reached a point where it feels like "normal" solo players like me are completely cut off from earning new and exciting loot. I would love to enjoy Destiny 2 again. I hope you will consider implementing better scaling for solo players in high-difficulty activities so that we can also participate in the endgame without feeling constantly punished. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. Per the TWID posted August 21st:
FUTURE CHANGES We know The Portal needs even more tuning, and some things just take longer to build. Expect the following in the weeks after Ash & Iron’s launch: … • A new 'solo operative' score boost in Fireteam and Pinnacle Ops for solo players.
(΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
