Reclamation Doesn't Feel Like New Content - It's More Portal

When I saw the new activity was a cross between overthrow and nether I was genuinely excited, as that would be a relatively unique experience and a change of pace from the current activities on offer. But seeing that it's the same portal modifiers, timers, and loadout restrictions was disheartening. I gave the mode a try nonetheless, but I tried solo, I got to the third zone, the time team out, I lost all my revive tokens, I died to a Wyvern, and the activity ended on the spot. Throughout the activity, I felt like experimenting but because of portal difficulty scaling and loadout restrictions, I was locked in to my suboptimal build with no way to experiment without abandoning the activity with nothing to show for it. I'm optimistic about changes coming in Renegades, but the current game feels so stale and the new activity is so 'samey' that I lost all interest. The chase for tier 5s got me through the beginning of the expansion, but at the end of the day the activities we play and the mechanics they employ (including modifiers, timers, restrictions) need to have variety too. Zero hour and whisper weren't great missions because they had timers. They were great because they were unique experiences that happened to include a time urgency. Nether wasn't great because it had secrets. It was great because it allowed you to proceed at your own pace and explore secrets if you want or beeline main objectives if you preferred. Please bring variety to the portal if that's going to be the front-page of the game.
