Right now a player has three variables to overcome to get the armor they want, which all relies on rng (we’re all pretty burned out about rng in this game so any sort of stability for gear is welcome).
A. Stats. Pretty simple, grenadier, paragon, brawler, etc. You have to farm for the stats you want.
B. Set Bonus. Lustrous, Bushido, Last Discipline, etc. This adds just another variable to overcome, you want the bonuses so now we’re at two variables.
C. Tier. No point in farming any of this unless you’re hitting tier 4-5 items. This is where I recommend the crafting begins and can have a lot of positive impact on the game. Player still has to rng for A and B, but imagine letting them level up that armor to 4 or even 5. Would be pretty awesome. We could also leave in the current grind system that would drop 4-5, but lets think of that as a happy bonus to doing that content and not the norm.
Please upvote if you agree so Bungie can see this.
(we’re all pretty burned out about rng in this game so any sort of stability for gear is welcome).
That's not true at all. The people complaining about RNG now are the same ones that whined about "wide as the ocean, deep as a puddle" in D2 year 1.

Set bonus is due to the activity you’ve chosen to play.I wouldn’t consider it a variable.
