Is Destiny dead?
I am a D1Y1 veteran playing since 2013. Destiny used to have a culture....a certain community feel. Weapons were earned from accomplishments....armor had meaning....clans meant something. Now its about the grind. The portal sucks...bungie, your devs are idiots and your leadership is blind and deaf. Later

Not yet ! Still has enough players to keep it going . But if Sony keeps going the way they are it will drop off rapidly . There is a lot of competition now .

l miss the crown ,rolling high Stat armor was fun. l miss weapon crafting,chasing that 5th red border . all the things that kept me in the game like gm strikes. and running strongholds if l wanted to chill. everything that was good in this game has been removed . bungie it wasn't the raids that made your game good,it was everything else that sustained it. now you did it to yourself ,your company is self destructing and it's time to wake up from your power trip.

YEAP it is dying for sure I used to pray like every day at evening after work the last year I think I’m playing like once or twice a month and definitely not playing this no more it was a good run I played since D1 back in the day that you have a good communities, you can join clans and do GM’s kind of cool not anymore I mean a have tried everything they have now but it’s really bad

If borderlands and COD do well this year, they could lose a good bit more of their player base yes. COD probably will not be good, so there’s that. Bungie seriously needs to do some soul searching though. I’d pay a lot of money just to be a fly on the wall at these meetings.

2 RepliesYes it is dead. Only 4k viewers on twitch rn on a trials weekend. Sad. I’m a 10 year pvp sweat/veteran and I don’t play often anymore because of sbmm. It’s so bad right now in PvP we’ll always has been for 5 years now maybe 4. Like literally just remove sbmm. I cannot play because of the amount of sweats I deal with is unbearable I can’t do anything.

Dead. Newcomers are playing outdated content Regular players doesn't have enough content. Portal activities are rewardless (random t5 with random stats, ghost mod just increases chance to get all what you need). And funny moment - they are choose most boring activities to add with the Edge of Fate. GM activities - in 50% games someone leave the activity on start and no join options available. Dungeons like appendix (WTF Bungo?! I paid for all of them, gimme my content, I want to spend rest of my live in Warlord's Ruin, 540+ times closed only, I wanna actual loot!). Raids mostly the same (except last one, but I don't like it) One of the main features - World... It's dead. Vex Strikes on the Neomuna still actual. Timegates everywhere (Sieve, Guardian Rank), stupid grind, everything is nerfing permanently, no fun. New event system, with the reset coins and other stuff sucks. No one wants to pay for nothing. Can't say something about PVP, I'm not playing this (only IB and events but without big plasure). If some of the newcomers in some reason read this message - don't buy DLCs at least for full price. I guess just few mistakes in next update (Ash and Iron) and it will be last Edge of Fart. Only one huge respect for Lodi.

Yes, it’s not even the same game anymore. It’s a gutted shell of what was. The tactics they are using to extend gameplay is a disgrace! They make a RIDICULOUS GRIND and then talk about how they care about mental wellness?!The Bungie leaders are truly SHAMEFUL. This game deserves new leadership ASAP.

Yep. I used to pre-order everything Destiny and play all the time , now I just wait till its free just to complete the tiny additions to the campaign. I'm guessing the new dlc ain't great as it's already been on sale twice on PS Store!! Didn't it just come out?? 🤷🏻🤷🏻😆😆

1 ReplyI think the main issue we are seeing is that this game (D1 and D2) has been around for so long that I doubt there is anyone still at Bungie from the first year. Turnover, I believe, has made the game different from what we had at the beginning. In some places, that is a good thing, but I think the current staff had a way different opinion on where the game is heading as opposed to where it was at the start. Bungie mentioned a ten year plan, and that ended already. What we have now is basically throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. That's why everything seems so disjointed and lack of a concept. This game could still be very good, but we have this mess , and the players aren't happy.

Portal needs to go ASAP it clashes with about 80% of the game and makes it useless. Unless everything is in the portal and updated to the tiered system, or the tiered system and portal are removed, then this game will continue to lose players

4 RepliesD1 is still going haven’t checked lately, but d2 oh dear yeah best not go there unless you’re a streamer, grinder, or number chaser. Love the universe of destiny but not d2 very much anymore.

I don’t think it’s dead. I think it has an identity problem and no one can decide what they want it to be; Looter? MMO? RPG? It has always had a mix, but recently none of those systems have been fleshed out enough to drawn in people who want to invest in the game. It’s tiring to see changes that are obviously driven to maximize engagement and logins. I was never a supporter of the in-house sabotage theory, but with the recent out-of-touch TWIDs and aversion of using anything to do with SIVA in Ash and Iron, it feels like the alternative reasons keep shrinking.

3 RepliesIt’s still early in one of the biggest overhauls they’ve ever done. Give it time to see what direction they take it. It’s not in a state to keep me entertained beyond renegades, but the $/time ratio has still been far better than other garbage games I’ve bought. There are people who like this system, so if there’s enough to keep this system going, then it makes sense for Bungie to do so. (People who like + salty addicts who pay) ÷ Bungie money spent maintaining = alive or dead? Time will tell.
