Bungie you're losing players. Ridiculous grinding
D1Y1 veteran here across multiple accounts and consoles.
It's the first time in over [b]10 years[/b] that when I think about how ridiculous are the decisions made for the progress of power grinding and how the portal works...I honestly prefer doing something else.
Like thousands out there I enjoy raids and dungeons. It's sad that all raids don't drop anything useful, I still run desert perpetual because I enjoy the mechanics and playing with my friends and even teaching, even if I know that the loot is useless for power grinding...but honestly I prefer [b]ANYTHING ELSE[/b] rather than doing Portal activities or worse Heavy Metal until my eyes bleed.
Frankly I don't have all that time to waste and neither my friends who left for Helldivers 2 or Warframe or Borderlands or even Destiny Rising...etc.
It's sad that such bad game design decisions are impacting even the most passionate fans of D2. On top of this, the incoming Nerfs are like gasoline on a burning house.

They are about to do something that hasn't been done yet for them: have a player count on Steam of less than 10k while the servers are online. Close at one point of low 10k recently. Let's see if it happens...

If you like playing dungeons and raids why would you want gear to level up when the activities that require higher levels are portal activities that you don't want to do. The item that drop in the activities you like to play are no useful for leveling doesn't make sense when you say you don't like doing portal activities so there's no need to level up.

The minute I turned into a ball of light I uninstalled the game after playing d2 from year 1, not including d1 'cos I've dipped back into that. D1 feels more rewarding for your efforts.

Bungie has one of the most antiquated and hard to work with game engines out there. So with the shrinking staff, they're upping the grind as a substitute for real content. It won't change, as a GAAS they need people focused on this game. As blunt as it is (and I hated people who told me this, even though they were ultimately right), play and be miserable. Or move on and find a game that is fun and rewarding. I don't need to have played recently to understand the game is in the worst spot it's ever been. For all the "improvements" all the really did was make more hamster wheels.

So many bad decisions it’s like it’s intentional. - Portal - Stupid modifiers, like shields trade-off (time bomb) - Power griiiiiiiiiiiind - raid/dungeon 200 drops - coming nerfs - Heavy Metal (pointless and boring) - Matterspark - Kepler ……..list is long, while list of guardians gets shorter each day.

No man sky JUST broke around 103K players just on Steam with a free update. Destiny 2 broke 99k upon EOF release (eventually 108k with the raid race and it immediately dying down 98k the next day) on steam Crazy!

2 RepliesI am stuck at guardian rank 5, cant get a team together for a conquest. The ingame player search never has people playing the 2 options and lfg is laughable None of my friends who started back in destiny 1 play anymore, I can't play anywhere near as much as I used to due to having a baby and working 50 hour weeks so I get on for maybe 5 hours max a week. I don't expect to be at 450 or max guardian rank but to be stuck at rank 5 for somethingthat doesn'thave matchmaking is ridiculous. Anything that requires you to level up to get a higher rank (except maybe the last 2 ranks) that effects tier drops should be able to be done through matchmaking. Bungle is pretty much destroying the playbase and making the players that still play resent this game .

It’s such a surprise, you think big companies with larger resources will have professional people who are well versed in their field that make inspiring choices and take things to new heights but what I am seeing is like someone else have completely hacked and take over Bungie and doing things to self sabotage and no one is seeing it. Maybe something really scary is happening behind the scenes that we have no clue of.

Have played since start of d2. Got a refund on EOF and stopped playing after the solar event. The game is a joke. Portal jukebox shallow gameplay loop, using the NEW GEAR they say to get a score, to earn gear you can’t fit in a vault, to put in 300 hours to get tier 5, which then turn into a pumpkin due to NEW GEAR… it’s not a game it’s a frustration simulator. No exploring worlds, no variety just jukebox grind their way, to reset and do it again. No thanks….
