Unstable cores
The cost of upgrading gear is ridiculous. I'm having to shard more and more gear to get the cores to upgrade what's left. I'm trying to upgrade Tinashas Mastery which is a 172 as not used it much to 274. The unstable core cost is 818. Are bungie insane? I don't have much plsy time these days I can't keep up with this BS.

3 RepliesYes it's insane and no mention of it so far in the TWID. At 400 it cost over 7000 core to upgrade a 200 piece of gear. This needs to be fixed.

It’s not that bad if you only level when you need to. I do it like every 100 light levels or when I need something for a GM or whatever. That said, the material shouldn’t exist. It’s just dumb.

Edited by Nugget: 9/6/2025 5:27:10 PMIf you’re boosting really low gear for example 10>450 then it’s going to get really expensive I think it costs between 11k-12k for a single infusion. The trick is to upgrade in smaller increments like every 5-10 power or try and farm armour that is the same as it only costs glimmer. I don’t think the unstable core economy is that bad, I’ve got 999,999 and have never had an issue with running out of them. If anything the game is far too generous with them and I think we need other ways to spend them.

At first it's an issue, after an amount of time your cores gain momentum, after that you have more than you need. Focus on one character, utilize season pass rewards for alts, win your sanity back with this method.

2 RepliesThen you are doing it wrong. I am literally maxed out on them, and have been so for so long. I also almost got a whole page of Enhancement cores in my vault. Even with Legendary shards i had an abundance of them. Reaching 200k. You don't need to masterwork every single piece or weapon that you get.

Sorry. Forgot the advice I was given by others. Just level what you NEED. For me that was two armor builds (my preferred and advant guard) and handful of weapons for champions. That makes it easier.
