Stronghold nerf honestly heartbreaking
Fairly new to Destiny2 and I've only started playing the game recently and the experience has been great! ... till this latest season.
Normally I'm not one to make posts or even make a fuss but with the most recent TWID I must say it's really are making it so hard to keep loving this game.
I for one am a definite [b]Stronghold[/b] power user and it is my main build. I love being able to infinite block any incoming damage and being the tank of my fire team but now that's being taken away and I gotta say that really sucks.
I honestly do not understand the decision making behind this, but I gotta say a lot of the recent decision making behind this game has been so heartbreaking because everything up till this season has been such a great experience. I hope some people can empathize with these thoughts and I hope bungie takes some of these thoughts into some reconsideration.
Nonetheless I'll keep enjoying Destiny and the build I've enjoyed so much till the next update while it lasts.... and I don't know maybe it's time to take a step back from the game till things change for the better

The Stronghold nerf is just another reason why the "crazy conspiracy theory" that Bungie is deliberately trying to kill the game is seeming less and less crazy every patch. At this point, I honestly think they just hate the game and the community, and want to kill it so they can move on from it.

I already made a post pretty much stating the same thing, but in a bit more detail. I will say that if you have a sword with Infinite Guard, you'll still be able to guard with a sword forever, even after the objective downgrade Strongholds goes through. That being said, Strongholds doesn't need it's Resist x4 buff removed, and if they do remove it, it'll be one very big reason for me to walk away from this game. Since that alone is what drew me to the exotic in the first place. Being able to Tank a lot of damage for my allies. If Bungie doesn't want me to be a decent Tank, after they've already said they want to double down on that Titan fantasy, then like you, i won't have much reason to stick around any longer than i already have.

2 RepliesLike you, I only got back into Destiny and started serious build crafting about a year ago. This game was such a beauty back then, a stark difference from it's launch. I was very optimistic and preordered EoF, thinking "how bad could it get?". That turned out to be a huge mistake. Stronghold Titan was what I used to bring my friends through GMs and harder cintent. Veing able to run in and rez them under all that fire made me feel awesome lol. I am not coming back after my season pass ends.

They're disguising this nerf as a buff which means they either don't play their game or just suck as people

Agreed. I love to solo most activities and stronghold Arc build has been a god send. They have constantly sucked out the fun in this game for a long time now. They have no clue as they don't play the game like we do so make these changes based on finger in the air decisions

2 RepliesAgree completely. I’ve been (reluctantly) playing Heavy Metal to get a solar sword on the Bungie approved weapon list, to synergise with the artifact, planning a stasis Stronghold build. New stasis shotgun too, I thought, will work well with the Bushido set. It was the silver lining in the clouds of this season. Then Stronghold gets interfered with for no apparent reason. On to pastures new.

Yep! I already let my clan know this is the last straw before I uninstall. Bungie's completely lost the plot, and if we lose the only exotic that allows sword to be somewhat viable in endgame activities (outside of 2 raid encounters) I'm gone. Not dealing with this asinine sandbox team anymore.

2 RepliesStrongholds is an overpowered and heavily abused titan exotic since the beginning of it's release so i can somewhat understand why it needed a nerf. Thought in this case it's is a "Too little. Too late" Senario

I honestly forgot this is still a thing. Alpha Lupi, Strand, Actium War Rig & Ashen Wake builds are so much fun. Even Stasis with Cadmus Ridge Lancecaps are fun. Stronghold's are boring as hell and nothing in this game is difficult enough where you MUST have it. I don't get the issue here.

1 ReplyI'm not a titan main, but my mother is. She doesn't use anything other than a strand stronghold build. She's about to have way less fun in this game. I will say, though, that for those capable of utilising more than one ability, a new OP meta always emerges. You'll just have to adapt a bit, and you'll find something else. You've always got the outbreak bolt charge build or that choir of one powerhouse.
