Are UPGRASE MODULES totally useless now?

If this is the case, it would be nice if Xur didn't drop them anymore, and maybe put in that it's deprecated, as on previous inv.

They can be dismantled into cores and glimmer. Bungie stated they would still drop from legacy sources when the change was announced.
