Bungie clearly does not want to accelerate the grind.
Really, Bungie? I checked out fireteam ops, pinnacle ops, and the Master solo playlist, and each is offering a reward drop of 2 paltry points above my power baseline--assuming that the drop is actually higher than the power of the gear whose slot it drops in, which is not guaranteed. It would take me 8 ++ runs to raise my overall power level by 2 measely points. This is your idea of "accelerating" the power grind?? Maybe that's exactly what you mean--you want to drag it out as much as possible. Frankly, this is offensive, predatory, and not worth my time. I got better drops in world before you implemented the portal. At this rate, I'll be dead before I reach the next rewards teir. No, let me rephrase that--I'lll quit if this is your plan for the grind. Makes me feel [b]stupid[/b] for playing. This may be a "looter-shooter," but the only one doing the looting is Bungie. Wake up Bungie. A lot of players are about to check out.

I don't know, I can do it at -30 delta to get A reward in FTO. Using all player stakes (no HUD, starting ammo, brawn) and make sure to use bane mod. FTO in general do need work, honestly I find no reason to actually play them if looking for an optimal power grind. Play them if you enjoy them, otherwise just run solo or pinnacle which can be done at -10 to -20 with A rewards most of the time. It does really need to be looked at both on a difficulty scale standpoint, and time vs rewards. FTO is by far the least rewarding in portal. Especially onslaught.

You can select individual activities and set your own modifiers to achieve your desired reward.
