Permanently locked out of Microsoft account, will I lose my cross save data on Steam
I've lost access to my Microsoft account and have been told there is no way for me to regain access. My Xbox account was the main account for my destiny 2 save. So my question is will I lose the ability to play cross save with characters on steam when Microsoft delete the email account due to inactivity?

Your Active character set is tied to XBox but the character data is managed by Bungie, you're using your XBox account to authenticate your access to it. With cross-save, you've set up an alternate way to access this data, so launching the game on Steam will bring up your 'XBox'-tied data, even if the actual XBox account is inaccessible or even completely gone. This is very much how players are still accessing Stadia-tied character data through cross-save, despite Stadia's own authentication method being removed.
