Before Edge of fate power levels did next to nothing, now it actually does something. It makes you stronger and take less damage, when playing an activity with a lower power level. A thing that we have always wanted.
Whilst this issue has been resolved, the issue now is that the entire game revolves around you powering up. Your only objective now is to reach max power and nothing else.
It is so bad that if you are not actively chasing powers, you are wasting your time.
The thing that makes this as bad as it is, is because of the new gameplay direction that Bungie has made.
Replaying the same mission over and over again just for the change of a 1+ item, is tiring and boring.
Before EoF i could play this game for hours, now it is hard to even play it for 30min.
All of this for what ? so that i can play the exact same activity but on a higher difficulty ?
Congrats you made power mean something, now the next goal should be to make the activities mean something.

I don't know, the whole power delta thing means you never feel powerful. Well, maybe it's just me. I wanted to become powerful then rip through enemies like a knife through butter, and that doesn't happen.

What did you used to play that kept you going for hours? Sorry to break it to you but playing games, watching movies, etc... is to waste free time people may have. Rational people waste that time on those things for entertainment. You should try it sometime. Play things you enjoy to have fun. It's a waste of time but doesn't feel like a real waste because you get wja t you desire, that being entertainment.

I'm trying to tell ppl... the portal is not "the game", its just a leveling system. Use it to level up, then go do the activities that you actually enjoy. My crew grinds the portal & then finishes the night off with a dungeon, just for a change of scenery. You can still do pathfinder on Pale Heart. You can still earn titles from Europa, Throne World, etc... check off some triumphs. You can still "accomplish" other things besides leveling up. You wont get great rewards, but you'll have your sanity lol
