Edited by PandaPapa146: 8/27/2025 2:27:28 AMFor this old tortoise… Best Time: D1 Best Event: that epic 12-man mission and the bits right after it…that was ‘closure’ for me Best Fun: playing with my son To Serve: as a bubble T with ToM and helped a few to clear The Taken King (Original), and close out that Book of Triumphs...that was a bit special* Favourite Place: the Destiny Universe Destiny’s best bits: the music - especially D1; and the incredible environments; the ‘space magic’; the gunplay, abilities and movement. Other Epic Bits: Meeting / Playing with incredible Guardians from around the world; and 10+ years of (mostly) good memories. Shoutout to all the worker bees and other good folk at BHQ that helped create / build / run and maintain the very special world of Destiny! 👻 Shoutout to the new boss et al: MDGA 👈 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡 *post-edit (I forgot about this one! lol)

Destiny 1 was my favourite part of Destiny 2.

I really enjoyed the House of Wolves and Rise of Iron eras in Destiny. Something about them was a lot of fun.

Edited by Ulzana: 8/26/2025 7:43:23 PMD1 Beta is #1 - because we had no idea how limited Destiny was going to be on release. Everything was full of potential. Lots of Bungie disappointment ever since. D1 just before D2 is #2 - there was a ton of stuff to do and it seemed Bungie had finally got there stuff together. Then D2 dropped... another huge disappointment. It was if they had a collective lobotomy @ Bungie HQ. For D2 the best was just before Lightfall. I bought Witch Queen cheap and actually lured a few people back for a couple of weeks. Then it all collapsed again with Lightfall.

Edited by STiNKyWizLTeaTs: 8/27/2025 4:24:23 AMI really liked the Menagerie. It wasn't overly difficult and didn't take forever. They also did not fix the fact that you could double up on the chest. I don't remember if they did fix it, but you could get double rewards for a long time and focus them.

2015-2016 was PEAK in my opinion.

The release of The Taken King was revolutionary. I loved the campaign, the Taken, the armor and weapons, Sparrow racing, etc. The releases of Forsaken, Witch Queen and The Final Shape came close to that level of excitement, but didn't quite match it.
-
See all those D1 responses..... It ain't rose glasses either. This game was built on a rotten foundation and you can't really fix that.

Edited by lonewolf-qc: 8/27/2025 2:20:46 AMMan, D1 for me was the best time. The raids were fun, especially Wrath of the Machine. I started a new character in D1 couple months ago, it was just as good as i remembered it.

Everything pre eververse/card events Basically before they went full scumbag

Forsaken and that whole year for me. Probably best campaign, great shift from the whole vengeance/justice for Cayde to all the mystical fantasy stuff in Dreaming City. 3 raids that year, didn't know how good we had it. Plus we got back stuff we never should have lost from D1. Crazy to think back now and remember that in D2 Y1 there were no random rolls and all the shotguns, snipers etc. were in the heavy slot 😮

Season of arrivals was really fun,we finally started getting into the whole darkness stuff and PvP was surprisingly balanced, not perfectly but pretty close, weapons were good and activities were fun, surprisingly I loved the whole darkness gambit activity thing and crucible.

Only started when Destiny 2 debuted on Steam, but my favorite was definitely Witch Queen. Campaign was great and had two of the best Seasons I have played: Haunted and Seraph.

Edited by TripleF73: 8/26/2025 7:13:14 PMThe Taken King, then the Age of Triumph in D1. Best the franchise has been imho. In D2 it had to be the end of WQ and season 19 the Season of the Seraph and Seraph’s Shield as the best exotic mission to date. I even loved the Heist Battlegrounds too. Best D2 has ever been. It’s been down hill from there with the occasional uptick for Campaign releases. I loved Neomuma and the Campaign but hated the -blam!- story. Loved TFS story and the Campaign, hated the raid and pretty much every single “Episode”. Heresy was ok but it was just memberberries from D1.

Day one since D1.I took a big hiatus, forsaken was one of my favorites. Came back for Final shape it was solid, but it has some of the same issues EOF does , feels less like the massive shared world I was used to. And echoes felt really weak coming off of final shape. EOF has some of the highest potential, I think it's why so many get passionate here in the forums. It could easily be the best time In Destiny history

Current gameplay. This is the first I’ve gotten armor with 70+ stats. I have to play harder content now since that’s all there is lol.
-
Probably now... I'm enjoying myself, and it's cool to be at the beginning of a new era. I love the stat changes, the armor & weapons. As basic as it is, what's there is pretty great, imo. 😇👍💠

Every year has had good and bad for me. Forsaken has an advantage because I liked last wish, scourge and crown. But that was also the expansion that made the life of every Warlock main super annoying.
