I've finally had some time to play with this and, underwhelmed would be my take. It doesn't do enough damage. It's too reliant on fireflights or whatever they're called. If enemies get too close, you're throwing punches instead of retrieving your hammer and throwing it. Wasting your forgemaster. It has potential but it needs a lot of work. Then again, maybe somebody truly skilled like Esoterickk will figure out how to make this work. He has a gift for figuring out how to make any exotic, regardless of quality, into something useful. Most of us aren't Esoterickk. We don't have his gifts. The new hunter exotic, Moirai, is excellent. The new warlock exotic, Eunoia, is pretty good although hard to imagine picking it over some of the other excellent warlock gauntlets. But Melas Panoplia? I donno... Just, not really something I see myself using other than maybe as a novelty from time to time.
