In Edge of Fate this game has nothing to do with fun. It's all about light level grinding. Bungie will say "Oh just play and level up at your own pace" but there's two parts to that. 1st being the five-tier carat that you dangle in front of players face and say you can get this and have it shining with all the bells and whistles and make it sound like it's easily obtainable. 2nd is what are we supposed to play? The same things that we've played for the past 8 years? Just because you cut them up into bite-sized morsels and place them into a packaged area (aka the portal) and say go here to earn light level does not mean it's fun nor content.
The portal is a place that you HAVE to go play in or your time is wasted inside of Destiny 2. You also have to find the quickest route and most efficient way of doing those things while you're in the portal. In Ash and Iron you're trying to Nerf that by decreasing power earned by one in Solo Ops which is going to kill the game for the people that have stuck it out.
Once you hit the 450 mark like I did, you are completely segregated from the rest of the community. People have to play at your requirements to be able to make gains.
Ultimately your left to finding people at your light level or not playing with anyone at all which is most of the time.
I just can't wrap my head around the amount of light level that you want people to grind and then are going to reset it to 200 once we get to Renegades. This is the craziest most insane demand of a gaming community I have ever seen.
The light level grind being that high for tier 5 loot to play the portal over and over again and alone to just reset it and start it over again is just flat out unhinged.
I hope you revert the Nerf to Solo Ops power gains for Ash and Iron and do NOT reset power levels for Renegade.

Once you hit grandmaster they give you way lower tier even doing master content. They are saying once you get to hard content that is all you can do to get loot . What if you can't do gm on some activities so you miss out on the loot. Before the tier system less skilled players felt less left out because a good gun was related to rng not having to do high level content other than raids and trials. Now the regular part of the game says either do this harder content or stop playing because we will make sure you can't get anything good if you are not good enough. I wanted to farm retrograde. But I have to do it on grandmaster to get a higher tier. I can't do those missions on gm. If I do it on master they might give me tier 1 or tier 2. Beating a boss is not good enough you have to beat a timer on difficult content. It's not about fun but alienating players. Everything is about limited revives which makes the game significantly harder. Before you could do low level nightfalls and still get good loot even if the drop rate was lower. There are players who will never be able to do gm so they feel left out getting tier 1 even doing one level lower
