This new grind of 990 light levels annually instead of the old 130 makes the game feel like a bad job at a factory and not a fun game to play. Hopefully yall fix it, but until you do I've deleted the game and will find something more appealing to waste my free time on.

If it’s a job, wouldn’t they not be… unemployed?

Streamers are the only ones actually praising this new system and the DLC as a whole. This forum and reddits are flaming it for good reason. Vote with your wallet.

I didn’t even buy the dlc. The lack of crafting and insane amount of grind was all I needed to hear to skip buying the dlc. Only reason I’m playing now is solstice and getting ready for ash and iron. After that who knows.

Then 300 or 350 for renegade. 790 at most. Previously it was 200 with major DLC and 10 each season x3 for 1 year Before that it was 4 seasons x 10 increase with 200 for major DLC Before that it was 50 per season + 200. Back then we had limited number of pinnacle rewards. No limit now.

Same applies to the forum moaners, lol.

Yep streamers and people who chase numbers, and others who have more hours to play than anything else.

Vote with your wallet and time. Once September rolls around, there will be tons of new options out there other than Destiny 2.

The hyperbole on this stuff is tiresome. Yes, it could be more deterministic (I really wish the ghost mods for armor archetype worked correctly) BUT… I have played pretty casually and hit 400 yesterday. Some days didn’t even play, some days a couple of solo ops or some pinnacle/ftops with buddies. PvP is actually useful… especially comp… for just consistent drops that boost. It’s just a crap show of an experience because of the stat reworks not being balanced out yet. No I’m not trying to level old gear because I tend to meet the game where it is and use new stuff anyway because it’s NEW… which basically means I’m a unicorn that actually likes the game. Honestly I really miss seasons and their story and loops. Not all were great but MOST were really good and that content was the SOUL of the game and made the world feel alive. Now it’s just a menu.

Your point is very valid!! I think total light level grind for the year would be about 800. doing 500 now, minus the 10 we start with. It resets down to 200 and another grind of 300 LL to get back to 500. so 490+ 300 = 790 I agree that this is stupid and most players will never achieve anywhere close to LL 500 at any point in the year. Couple that with the gear tier system, so most players will never earn T4 or T5 gear based solely on their light level.

Well Destiny is a free to play game. Just now the portal and its progression system, and activity rotation reflect that now...
