Uncap Strange Coins..
I could have had about 500 already.. they keep dropping after activities but I'm maxxed out after a day.. it's ridiculous.

Bungie heard about this post and have come up with a solution. "We understand that many players are capped with strange coin. Therefore, we will reduce the amount of strange coins earned after each activity." - Bungie

1 ReplyAnd also raise some of the LL of Xur’s wares to be closer to our guardian’s. Also make Xur sell Deep Sight Harmonic for some players that have a need for it. Sheesh bungie.

3 RepliesYa I'm maxed out to nothing to buy... definitely needs a focus menu and even a spot to buy old red border guns...then it would be a "Shut up and take my money" Type situation...

Edited by Rockjaw: 8/14/2025 3:56:11 AMI hate how we have a specific currency for each task. It's never "this item costs 400k glimmer, or 150 strange coins, or 200 cores, or 1 Ascendant Shard." I wish we had actual choices with our currency. As it stands it's just, "i need to farm x currency to do this one thing". Then we wind up with too much of some currency and not enough of the other. Edit: like glimmer. What do we even spend glimmer on these days? I genuinely haven't noticed. Used to be raid banners, but.... now one is doing raids.

I’m pretty new to this game, I’m about 70 hours in. I will kind of agree. 199 is a lot, but there’s so much I still need in the game. The people who have been guiding me tell me about the exotic class items I need, and all the exotics, and their catalysts. When I got on yesterday to play, I started with 18? I’m up in the 100s now and I’ll definitely miss out on 30+. If the cap can’t increase for any reason, I think another solution could be the vault? I wish I could throw them in the vault or something. That way I could just cash out one weekend. I know that’s a tricky one because people talk about not having enough vault space. -

They just need more outlets for them. There is nothing for veteran players to spend them on.

I'd like to have a way to spend them. Don't need anymore class items, don't want to buy the engrams 1 token at a time to dismantle gear after. By the way, still dropping upgrade modules. Almost useless at this point

Shouldnt be a single resource in the game with a cap imo. Let people grind/play how they want. They just want to artificially inflate retention and engagement metrics.

A year after Bungie updated Xur, and I feel he already needs an update again. Especially with this new system. It makes every vendor feel irrelevant.

As a player not going to say the "V" word😂, I've been playing this game for a long time and have everything from Xur inventory from his Friday visits to DOE and I think players like us need to have another Vendor to spend strange coins on. (Idea) Can we turn the vending machine next to Ada Armory into a "Strange Coin Buff Vendor" that allows you to buy game buff for strange coins that last for a day or two. Example *Primary buff - 60 coins *Special buff - 60 coins *Heavy buff - 70 Coins *Solar buff - 70 Coins *Stasis buff - 70 Coins *Glimmer Buff - 40 Coins *Enhancement core buff - 80Coins "Damage and Support buffs only work in PvE content" At least I'll be spending them on something that benefits me then buying random things from Xur.

If Xur had the ability to focus specific weapons (with origin traits and enhancement that were recently added to his pool), and another focus for red border weapons in his pool (at higher cost), then he may be useful. Right now, he honestly has little to no use other than to top off on materials that he has. Cant even rank him up anymore, so once I top off on materials, I just sit on the rest of the coins until the next week. His weapon pool is inflated with junk from the beginning of time now... so getting random weapons from his engram is a cause of more frustration than help at this point (unless you enjoy tedium and want to try for red borders, but I would not put deepsight harmonizers on any of those weapons anymore since the source is dried up). Xur is the perfect example of a good idea with horrible implementation. Really only useful for only people who want quick class item rolls at this point.

Why do you need strange coins? Xur is practically irrelevant, I'm got 999'999 unstable cores, maxed on every currency, I don't need anything so I'm playing for nothing 😂

don't bother than, play one day, spend everything and the day after you are back at max. no need to have 100k in your inventory. Xur has most of the time nothing special to offer anyways. just be happy materials now are easier to get than before and you are getting loaded with them.

Yeah same here, if xur had decent stuff I'd be spending them, just lost another load on reset as I'd left them in my portal reward track as I was already full.
