There needs to be a process for unlinking old platform accounts + migrating main platform data.

To start: I fully understand that this is currently not possible to do. I understand Bungie disabled the ability to unlink a platform account from cross save. I understand you cannot make your active account Steam when it is currently PSN (and vice versa, etc. etc.). But! As the game ages and people upgrade consoles, get PCs, and life happens, this is going to become an incredible annoyance. For example: I started Destiny 2 on PS4 back during the end of Forsaken (lots of years ago). I then moved to Xbox for a good while. Recently, I have learned how to play on keyboard and mouse for the first time (ESDF FTW) and so I have moved to Steam. The issue is: I HAVE to keep all of my old accounts in good standing and make sure I'm checking in on if there's been data breaches on any of my linked accounts, etc. It can become annoying when there are multiple. I don't even have a PlayStation anymore, but since my account data lives on the PSN platform, I have to be VERY CAREFUL about keeping that account secure. Not to mention the other couple platforms I linked for the hell of it and then forgot about. Bungie: please consider creating some kind of process that can permanently close and migrate a platform's data to another so we who have been playing for nearly a decade (or more) can stop fussing over accounts on platforms we no longer use. It can be a long process. It can be a process that involves form submissions, email confirmations, wait times, or even a small fee (<$10) to make sure it isn't abused. But it really needs to happen if you're going to stick with Destiny 2.
