Frequent freezing/crashing after 7/29 maint
After the server maintenance for 7/29 weekly reset
I noticed my game frequently crashing/freezing.
At first I thought it was related to Phoneutria Fera as before this i would only freeze after extended play sessions of numerous hours, but while using Phoneutria Fera today my game froze twice within 10 minutes and required a task manager force close.
then after I stopped using it, my game worked as normal, but still froze after a few hours, longer than when using Phoneutria but shorter than previous.
EDIT: the issue is definitely not related to the handcannon but i cant tell what, Freezing is occuring on both hunter and warlock regardless of subclass
EDIT 2: No crashes inside of crucible or while doing vespers host, but going into the portal PvE activites brought crashes nearly instantly. I believe the issue may be related to something inside the portal modifiers but it is purely speculation

If you haven't already done so, we recommend trying out the troubleshooting listed at the end of our [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024592-Destiny-2-Steam-Guide]Steam Guide[/url]. These steps have been known to help with crashing like that which you describe. If, however, this crashing persists, then please let us know whether any error codes present when it occurs. We'll then review.

I've also been experiencing this following the update on 7/29. I checked the integrity of the game files, updated all GPU drivers, and even performed a complete uninstall/reinstall of Destiny 2. Sometimes, I'll be able to play for an hour or two before it crashes and I have to restart; other times, it crashes after 10 minutes or so. It never shows an error code. The game just freezes and I get sent back to Windows. Monitoring this thread to see if anyone finds a solution.

Same here, been crashing a lot today, especially in fireteam ops, but haven been using the new pistol

I am also getting this issue, both with and without the handcannon equipped (though other fireteam members might have it equipped still)
