Strandlock has literally NO survivability. No, the aspect that rapidly drains your melee energy to take less damage doesn’t count. No, the fragment that gives a measly 5 seconds of woven mail in exchange for running into a group of enemies to collect an orb, does not count.
Bungie, who thought it’d be a good idea to put ALL of strand’s survivability on Titan? Seriously, this needs to be fixed. It’s almost hilarious how nobody on the design team can see this.
Edit: I’ll keep bumping this until Bungie gets the idea. It’s been too long and they don’t seem to care at all.

Edited by Oddity: 7/26/2025 4:08:55 AMI feel like Stand Warlock has better survivability than a lot of other subclasses. Rift (when used tactfully), woven mail’s DR, and weavewalk can save you from a lot of dicey situations. Solar Hunter only has healing grenade and restoration from firesprites (both are universal between classes), but Hunter has less access to heals than other Solar variants. Arc Hunter has combination blow, but it’s not effective in endgame as you’ll likely get deleted in close range. Strand Hunter only has the woven mail fragment. Stasis Hunter only has frost armor, but its harvest aspect is worse than the others because it requires defeats to activate. Arc Warlock only has rift. Stasis Warlock has rift and frost armor (better access to it than Hunter, but still a bit lacking). Very effective CC though, which pushes it up a lot higher when you get it rolling. Arc Titan only has knockout. Same issues as combination blow, but in addition to worse damage potential. Stasis Titan only has frost armor. All the Prismatic subclasses get a little bit of everything. All the Void subclasses, Solar Warlock and Titan, and Strand Titan and Warlock all feel fine when it comes to survivability. Some just don’t have the damage to make it worthwhile (like Void Titan, for example). Wouldn’t be against Strand Warlock buffs, but I’d rather a threadling buff than more DR. Though, they should increase Woven Mail duration across the board, the nerf to the fragment was BS. Doesn’t help they keep nerfing our orb generation. Edit: I forgot about Threaded Specter! It’s not great, but it is something. The cooldown because of PvP is egregious, however. Better on Prismatic for higher uptime.

Bump.

Agree - Woven Mail being 5s is awful and with the swathe of other changes, running pure Strand on Warlock is really bad for survivability.

Edited by MNN8TV: 7/25/2025 7:30:30 PMThe gigantic nerf to the woven mail fragment is crazy. 5 seconds is practically nothing. It should st least be 5 seconds per orb, up to like 15 or 20 seconds.

The biggest issue is the rate that Weavewalk drains melee energy. Instead, give it a unique meter that drains slowly while in the form, and recharges when outside the form. Recharges faster on threadling damage.

I sort of wish there was, like, an armor stat or something that could reduce incoming damage, you know, make us more Resilient and improve our overall survivability. I think a stat like that could be very useful, actually!

Definitely feels like a class that forced into something like Navigator or Bloodline, just to shore up its defenses Same on Threadrunner, but at least Green Man can pull a lot of aggro there

I have survived a lot using Weavewalk at the right moment, especially when using Monte Carlo to regain your melee charges extremely fast, though a Pugilist weapon can be a decent substitute. Add to that Weaver's Call, and you can quickly escape then come right back after regenerating your health with 8 angry Threadlings to nuke whatever broke your shield. It's not perfect but if you are having issues surviving on Strand as a Warlock, I highly recommend it. That and the suspending builds are very good, as the enemies can't hit you if they are suspended.
