Bungo… The current power level is designed for SUPER GRINDERS that have no other jobs or responsibilities but gaming 24h / 7 days a week.
There was another method to power up quickly (Encore) but you took that away…
How many people will get there to 400 power level relatively soon? Maybe 20% or 30% right 👉 So approx 70% of the entire population will either QUIT the grind or perhaps QUIT the game entirely at some point during this season… Fantastic…
Don’t you think the power grind system has a serious design flaw with 👉 player engagement & retention?

Edited by Illuminatis_fedl: 7/26/2025 12:43:32 PMThat’s kinda a false statement you making I’m already near 300 with 295 power dropping and have a job and responsibilities. If you want to level up quickly do things that give multiple drops and use new gear that simple. It also depends on what you want to do in the game. For me personally I can care less of wanting higher power but I get it passively because I want higher tier armor for PvP with good stat distribution.

Most importantly you gotta understand that the power grinders they are mostly no lifers hardcore players... What's crazy is the people who I've seen who are 400 they don't even have tier 3 gear they only have tear too because they prioritized more on power. Most people who are 400 never even completed mystic this is solely because just because you are 400 does not make you the best player in the world.... power doesn't mean anything. When I completed the full mystic campaign I was only 220 another person who helped me was below 200... Most importantly by the time I was 220 I already had all of my gear up to tier 2 and I had that hand cannon tier 4 you get as reward for completing fable campaign quest from the alter. That's because a lot of people don't understand when you have high tier gear regardless of power you're going to be more beneficial in a mystic campaign because of the increase resistance and damage you get from the new gear it has nothing to do with power...

Frankly I don't mind a power grind as long as there's a reason for it .. You know example if they added new pieces of content that requires you to be 350 or 400 that's understandable but what not is understandable beyond logic is why would you grind 200 levels for it to be reset for no reason other than to show off that you increased your power there's no purpose to hit 400 at this point.. Even contest mode requires you to be 200 right now you could enter the raid as level 100.... Even people had early access even said that they thought it was dumb that they want you to grind 200 extra levels just for it to be reset they think the level is too high. I personally believe that season power should be optional you know like the pinnacle before the expansion.

Edited by Abyss: 7/26/2025 12:28:39 PMI’m not a huge grinder and the past few months leading up to the expansion, but in this expansion I’m having fun playing the way I want to play, I haven’t gotten this sucked into the game since the witch queen, part is I don’t need to worry about luck determining what drops I need leveling to 200 power was really easy getting past 200 is a little bit more of a time crunch, but I’m also not in a rush to reach the top light levels. Pace yourself and use the portal to get the drops you need, encore was a nice activity to play but not for 2+ hours on repeat, I just got my intrinsics and a few drops and dipped. I personally don’t think that that mission was worth sitting in from more than what you had to sure you getting volume of reward drops but even then those drops were shitty, I found that generally in increasing my guardian rank made things far easier to level up rather than running the same mission over and over. Better to have fun than grind my -blam!- off

I've never minded the power grind, but it seems pointless when they reset it every 6 months and always cap us below end game content level anyway. I'm just casually playing and I'll be happy to get to 200 in 6 months, cos that's where we'll all be anyway 💁♂️
-
Nobody wants to grind more, what we want is to have fun.
-
Im what you would call a "super grinder" i do in fact work but I 100% agree. The majority of the player base in fact are not super heavy grinders and making the current system only appeal to those who have even more time than I do is just making the game worse.
-
I succumbed to buying the expansion, the campaign is alright but the ball thing is tedious ! But it’s been a slow gradual power increase . I can now have a crack at the more difficult content …I’m still rocking last years load out 🤷🏼♂️😂
-
Yeah bungee would never understand that because they think power grind is content 😆 🤣 The community has been telling bungee that power grind is not content ever since 2018 lol

Edited by Ferus Lux: 7/26/2025 8:00:09 AMIt's possible that they're just trying appeal to dedicated players like Path of Exile devs and have accepted they will never bring in Lightfall and TFS numbers ever again 🤷
-
I am a 0,1% player, but no way I will be grinding everything all over again.
-
They need to rethink the grind… balance around people that can play 2 hrs a night and it will do wonders
-
A good comment, i have no expectation of reaching the top, I will play on a casual basis as and when I see fit
-
I honestly agree that the power grind is too much and I'm someone who has a full time job but also has a lot of free time to play games everyday. The fact that we will be reset back to 200 every 6 months too makes it kind of pointless unless you seriously want tier 5 gear,I'll be happy enough with tier 3 gear personally.
-
Im quitting at 300 Got my season pass and did the raid. 300+ missions suck
-
Exactly get rid of the freakin power climb it serves NO GOOD PURPOSE!! We should have just started the expansion grinding out great new weapons up to tier 5 on the first day inside the campaign. Or they should have just had a power cap of +50 max above starting expansion power level. Bungie is a pathetic excuse for a game dev company. They put out Halo in 2001 which was great and now they hate players so much they don't care and don't put out any quality content anymore.
-
You’re 227 so I don’t know about that. I guess it’s perspective?
-
Just grind smart, I’m already close to 300 with out farming encore and I have a full time job. The grind isn’t hard , it’s only hard because player refused to content a little more difficult.
