Daily Login Rewards for the Destiny 2 Companion App
To boost engagement and encourage regular use of the Destiny 2 Companion App, we propose implementing a daily login reward system. This system would incentivize players to open the app each day by offering valuable in-game resources.
How it Works:
Players would receive a unique reward simply for logging into the D2 app once every 24 hours. The rewards would be delivered directly to their in-game inventory or postmaster.
Potential Rewards:
* Bright Dust: This is a key currency for cosmetic items and a highly sought-after reward. Offering Bright Dust would be a significant draw.
* Upgrade Materials:
* Enhancement Cores
* Enhancement Prisms
* Ascendant Shards
* Glimmer
* Legendary Shards
* Small amounts of Eververse Engrams: While not full engrams, even a slight chance at an Eververse item could be exciting.
* Raid Banners: Always useful for end-game content.
* XP Boosts: Temporary boosts to experience gain for a limited time.
* Unique Emblems or Shaders: Exclusive cosmetic rewards that can only be obtained through app logins.
Benefits:
* Increased App Engagement: Regular rewards would create a habit of daily app usage.
* Community Encouragement: Players would feel more connected to the game even when not actively playing by checking the app.
* Value for Players: Provides an additional, low-effort way for players to earn valuable in-game items, especially Bright Dust, which is often grind-heavy.
This system would provide a tangible benefit for players to make the D2 app a regular part of their daily Destiny routine, ultimately leading to a more engaged and connected community.

A companion app should be that, a companion to a game to make certain tasks in game easier, and entirely optional. Putting rewards on it kinda kills that a bit. I think a better idea would be an in game login in reward that may also be claimed by logging in on the companion app, but don't make it exclusive to it. No need to divide this already shattered community further. But this idea does have merit.
