I’m uncertain of how this works since apparently there is no direct support channel which is honestly unreal.
I haven’t played D2 in over a year and wanted to get back into it. I’m having issues with Sony and can’t access my PSN account that I played Destiny on. I want to unlink it and link my new current PSN account to Bungie so I can actually play. I saw that as of march, unlinking is no longer allowed but I’m hoping there is a work around for this on bungies end?

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. No, there is no workaround. Since March 25th's unlinking update, only Twitch accounts are now eligible to be unlinked from Bungie profiles. All other platform accounts, once linked, are linked permanently. Further, as Bungie entrusts players with the security and management regarding linking their accounts, we do not unlink any accounts on players' behalf. Thus, the PlayStation account in question will remain linked. Your only recourse is to work with Sony in the hope of recovering the account.

Edited by EckyThump: 7/23/2025 7:42:00 PMHey there, this is the right place for queries like this - questions covered by policy (linking, cross save, etc) can be answered within minutes so no need for direct support. Unfortunately as you saw, unlinking is no longer possible. There is no workaround, Bungie will not unlink and they will not make exceptions. In addition, the old PSN account is the Active account in your current setup, it is the source of the characters that are being shared to the other accounts by cross-save. To want to disconnect and discard that account would mean losing your current character set, all progress, inventory, vault, etc as they'd cease being shared, there is no way to move them to a different account. You'd be starting from scratch, if you were able to do what you wanted to do.
