So after playing for a bit and trying out all the content, I wanted to give some feedback:
First off, I really enjoyed the story this time mainly because of the fact it feels more like an RPG being able to talk to NPCs. It was nice that there were text boxes to read and get more involved with the world. I feel like we need to do that for all npcs everywhere. I would love to go talk to some Eleskni. I also like there being side quests. I enjoyed the campaign. The ability to choose modifiers to custkmize levels is great. I also enjoyed the multiple new weapon types that made the game a lot of fun.
However here are some pain points:
Loot: Loot feels more scarce. Last season you would generate loot either through tonics, relics or even generating engrams on the side through vendors and ranks but now that is gone. The portal only has 1 drop for seven minute activities but in crucible I could play a control map and sometimes get 2 to 4 drops/engrams constantly and with the engrams I could get double perks which was amazing. Then there were weapons that moved over to xur that get rid of so much loot and stacks it to RNG like nightfall weapons, competitive weapons and trial weapons. Which would be fine if there weren't only like 9 weapons out of 50-100. There has to be a way to focus at least a little. So instead of 7 strange coins for some random weapon which has been just the worst. It should be like 8 or 9 coins to select a group of weapons and that can be random. Like if i wanted a palindrome I would click on the engram labeled nightfall weapons and there would be a chance for a palindrome to drop, still RNG but would be way better then me getting 10-20 future war cult weapons from fricken season of the splicer!!!! Plus there is so much space on the vendor screen to implement this. Which leads to my other pain point…
Vendors: if we aren’t going to have double perks and vendors then 15000 is too much glimmer for a single tier 1 gun with no doubles perks (unless the more you rank up maybe there is a chance of double perks? but i don't see a reset on shaxx). 5,000 or even 3,000 is way better. Eververse sucks. There is so much space on the bright dust page that it is empty, so create another row of cosmetics to buy stuff. I don’t care if you make money from eververse. You aren’t making that much money from old armor sets or weapon ornaments. So throw them into the new row in eververse. At the very least it would look better. I already told you about xur but I am serious about buffing xur.
Ammo: I know everyone is already talking about ammo being a problem and while ammo drops more often when you are getting kills but the problem is if I am doing a raid and I am running mechanics, then I don’t have opportunities to kill as many ads. This leads to me having no ammo to help my team and what is even worse is that unless we are using cenotaph or special ammo finished allies don’t drop any ammo which means I am using a primary. I like the ammo bar but I think a change should be implemented where when your bar fills up it should send ammo straight into your reserves and then drop a brick for your allies.
Materials:
I have no idea where to go now to get more materials. When I needed strange coins I would run grandmasters over and over again but there are no grandmasters so where do I go? Same for alloys and shards? Idk where to go to get these materials? I will say trying to generate materials now is so painful and slow. So buff it or explain clearly where I get materials. This can also tie to farming high stat exotics.
Power level deficit: it feels bad to not be able to over level the hardest content like mythic. I understand raid and dungeon races because that helps even the playing field but if i am trying to level up to do world tiers, -50 power is a little extreme. I think a lot of people have already brought up their opinions about this topic but it already takes forever to get to max level and before the update the greatest armor was artifice which only gave you an additional 3 stat points but now tiers give a range of stats so now nothing is worth using till tier 5 because the stats are just so much higher.
Ability regen 0-200:
I can’t tell the difference between low grenade/melee/class and high, it only seems to shave off 1 second on grenade regen (at least that is what it says on the menu) and when I use demo the amount looks to be the same.
Portal: portal does not seem rewarding enough or fun enough. I was having a blast with infinite grapple. That was so much fun but now that has been removed which just sucks…. There should just be more silly fun modifiers and it should be raining more loot. The enemies are already bullet sponges so let me have my fun!
Weapon Stat: Weapon Stat should not give a dmg buff in pvp. Weapons already give reload speed and handling which is amazing and is a good change but not with the additional dmg buff. With weapons and another dmg buff active this is bringing ttks too low in our sandbox and needs to be walked back.
Lastly, I want to apologize for how long this feedback was. I didn’t realize how many things I wanted to change in destiny 2 until I started writing.
