^Plz change title of the patch notes to this
What’s the point of releasing a weapon and and then nerfing it? The only thing proves is your quality department is trash and can’t do their jobs.

It's still great

Edited by ben: 7/23/2025 10:34:27 PMA dev on the destiny 2 team reddit account explained on the back end what the issue was with the weapon, it was a bug in its interaction with anti barrier scout. Was it overpowered yes it did more damage per shot than a machine gun and that was without the damage buff on marked targets. The gun made no sense. But at the same time with all the bugs in the game right now that actually do hurt the player experience, its a kick in the nuts to take it away now instead of just leaving it alone for a bit. Bungie sitting there in their studio theater watching the raid race all weekend seeing clear as day as what is supposed to be a peak community event was completely compromised by game breaking memory leak bugs forcing teams to constantly reload their instances to avoid the game genuinely crumbling apart in real time, then starting the following week with fixing third iteration and disabling encore again was certainly a choice in priorities. I know thats not how game development works and some things are easier to fix than others but its the principle of bugs that benefit the player consistently being addressed before bugs that hurt them.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 7/23/2025 10:00:47 PMIt's still great... I refused to use it while it was BUGGED with anti-barrier... Outbreak was too. I still tried it for a min, lol... busted. I unlocked the catalyst last night... I'm mean got to rank for it. Used it for my first Conquest... still really strong. And on Hunter it's a dream... Ascension overrides the cooldown (overheating reload mechanic). Yeah, I got more kills than my other 2 teammates combined using that scout.

I thinks it’s called Bait & Switch…..🤨

Edited by Fever: 7/23/2025 4:29:22 AMThe nerfing is ridiculous. They need to release all archetypes of the new rocket assisted frames before nerfing them. When they nerf them into the ground like the side arms, it destroys the potential for anything new post nerf like lotus eater and the new crucible one. The Call when it first came out was so much fun. They look for fun and put a knife in it anyway possible in the name of “balance”. Lmao From now on when you nerf an archetype, quit wasting R&D $ on new ones because no one is going to use them.

Bungie: You see this one good weapon out of like the 7 we added? Yeah it sucks now. Now go use the rest of those 6 weapons and they’ll get nerfed too eventually :)
-
I thought the extra damage was a great trade-off for that awful reload time. Tried it out after the change aaaannnnnnddd into the trash it goes. Lol
-
Because...it was bugged ? Having a scout riffle having the same dps as top tiers heavy weapons was fine to you ? Its a fix, not a nerf. Its still very good to use tough after the fix.
