Hello, fellow Guardians and Bungie!
I was wondering if Bungie has ever made an effort to retire older inactive clans?
With more and more clans being created each and every day, unique names are being taken.
The Discord server for my clan is dedicated to helping new players get through raids, and we would love to have our clan name match the server; however, it is being occupied by a couple of players who have not logged in since 2017.
I have made personal efforts to try and reach out to them to see if they would be willing to part with their clan name, but they have yet to respond or accept any of my friend requests.
How would the community feel about this? While I feel it is great that they chose their clan name first, there should be some requirements to keep their clan name.
Let me know what everyone thinks.
Thank you!

@Bungie pls respond.

There has not. Since Clans launched in Destiny 1, Bungie has always made it clear that ownership is tied to whomever created it. In order for a name to be released, all current members would need to leave the Clan before the name becomes available. Haven’t seen anything change in recent years.

I agree! Please make this change or do something about it. \
