RIP Destiny
I dunno, maybe I'm just too old for this sh*t. 🤷 But I've got dough... which, until now, I've been happy to squander on season passes, DLCs, upgraded event cards, and weekly Eververse trash.
I've invested $1,000+ and several thousand hours. Despite the steep learning curve, I persisted, learned, grew, gitted gudder. It's been fun and I've met some truly great people, but sadly, the game has clearly jumped the shark.
The whole rich get richer, and play how you want as long as you use a meta build, construct was irksome. Catering to streamers at the expense of normies, a ponderous business model. But lame AF is the last straw.
Last season was actually fun (ish) again. But matterspark hasn't been fun since Metroid. Constant buildcrafting overhauls have never been fun. 1 in 150 odds of getting a decent (3/5) roll or 1 in 3,000+ odds of getting a god (5/5) roll is absurd. Pointless PVE mechanics, PVP cheats, dysfunctional servers, poorly recycled content, product managers who clearly don't eat their own dog food... it's frustrating and far too exhausting.

Its over. Agree. Trials was all I had left and with the armour changes I just don’t think I have the motivation to grind to even play that anymore.

Yeah the game just took a fat turn downhill, and it’s not even the DLC. The free QOL updates ruined it, everything feels clunky

7 RepliesI haven't bought EoF. I've tried to run the bit of the campaign that they gave free to play, but didn't like it and couldn't be bothered. I have however, gone back to the way I used to play in D1. That is, exploring the old planets, doing daily bounties, lost sectors, public events etc. And you know what? I'm really enjoying doing it, with every piece of blue loot that drops increasing my power level by a few points. This may seem boring to most players, but it's a few hours each night of pure relaxation. No frustrating mechanics, no overpowered enemies, just playing the game as I [b][i]used [/i][/b]to enjoy it. I don't know what'll happen when I get to the soft cap, but I haven't even though about it yet. I'm just enjoying old style Destiny while I can........ and it's free.

5 RepliesWhat sucks the most to me is the trend of solo/fireteam only patrol areas now. Kepler is the same as Pale Heart, it just feels empty. I was running some Overthrow last night grinding class items in Pale Heart and was just thinking about much better it would be if there were just 3-4 other random guardians running around killing stuff and doing their activities. The world of Destiny feels so empty now and is a total joke for as much as they keep trying to call this game an MMO.

This is the worse DLC ever I played for 45 min on Wednesday and that was enough for me. Turning a guardian into a little steaming ball of Sheit for 45 seconds to roll down tunnels and bounce around walls to break things is a terrible mechanic.

i'm a Destiny OG, here from the day 1 of the first Destiny. I've gone trough a lot of bad decision of the developers, like you i met good people, some friend and for sure i had good times. i've played on PS4, PC and now Xbox X. 20 minutes ago the last hard crash of the game like a Destiny's player. 1 hour taken and put in the trash. I work 9 hours a day, i used to game to relax myself. So i feel you you. BTW, i think i've invested like 500/600€. And this is going to end today. Have a nice time

The gear tiers are awful. You have to grind to 200 just get basic drops? It’s like they are flipping off their players. What a mess.

2 RepliesAh destiny will keep crawling on for awhile yet ! Didn’t buy expansion and just jumped into PvP , I did try the first campaign mission and logged off on the second orb puzzle …just seems a bit naff . Look it looks ok and I like the idea of the story 🤷🏼♂️

Well 48hrs in and it’s not looking good . Low pop and people already saying the game is dying usually it’s at he end when things die down especially 11 months recently. Destiny lost its fire ….bungie ….Sony need to ignite the franchise again !
