Bungie replaced grindable Pathfinder with something that's capped at 800 a week (1000 if you do the 7x3 daily challenges) and we shouldn't be okay with it
The fact that you could actually grind BD for stuff in the Eververse was a nice change for once, that lasted a total of what, a year? Now we are back to tedious, ~900 a week capped bullcrap that tonedeaf Bungie thought was a really smart idea. More and more shaders behind paywalls, less and less free currency in the paid shop. Is this the final dip before closing shop or something? Or are they just this incompetent?

Pathfinder was horrible when they first introduced it, but after several changes the paths were easy and rewarding, especially when you could have all 3 of the Ritual Pathfinders completing at the same time! Actually sad that it is gone, and even more sad that Bright Dust is harder to come by. Particularly now that they are finally adding those Stasis sets to the Bright Dust shop.

And Bungie isn't going to listen to the customer base because their management team is too busy smoking whatever drugs they're probably on that keep them disconnected from reality to care. It's really sad. The game has so much potential and Bungie just doesn't seem to give a damn. It's no longer a project being done for a passion of making a good story, it's a project they're doing just to be busy. Hell, they ended account unlinking because of "security concerns" rather than attempting to patch their security systems to make it more secure. If you're expecting Bungie to do anything reasonable with their current incompetent management, you're dreaming.

Edited by TRONOTEC: 7/16/2025 10:22:27 PM- During forsaken completing bountys gave 1200 per character easly. Imagine that, 3600 bd a week and farmable extra bountys that gave 30 each. So grabing and doing all in the tower in 1 run is 4050bd per week. - Then they nefed it in beyond light, no more weekly bountys that gave 200bd. They added bd to the battlepass and nerfed weeklys, giving total 750bd per character a week, but overal + battlepass was waay less than before. And extra bountys got nerfed from 30bd to 10bd - Then pathfinder came and went in final shape, 150 per path, 1500 a week, + 30bd doing a full path, but remember 1 extra bounty in forsaken was 30bd and pathfinder required a full page for the same - Now in edge of fate it seems the battlepass has less bd too, 30bd DAILY, 600bd in the mini pass and the weekly challenges 40bd per challenge x 5 = 200bd so 800bd total + if yoy do all dailys is 210 more so total 1010bd playing everyday. This sucks, you cant even get an armor piece for bd featured in the week for 1200bd So we went from 4050bd > 2250bd > 1500bd > 1010bd The bd philosophy before was to keep players playing so they could buy the featured ornaments in the week. But now is unreachable, i would rather not play if i cant get it. I can see a future were they get rid of bright dust and thats it. Tons of people play the game to set the goal of getting ornaments, but this is a massive L.

11 RepliesBy no means am I defending Bungie, but are you for real? All anyone was doing on these forums for the first month of Final Shape was complain about the Pathfinder system. Anyone who’s been playing this game long enough has plenty of bright dust because any cool cosmetics they actually design are silver-only for at least a year. If you’ve been playing since the first couple years of this game’s lifespan and you don’t have 100k+ bright dust, that’s a you problem.

I would’ve paid 80 bucks for this expansion by itself so he could drive more cars, my car looks like a rust bucket so his can look like a Ferrari, be better consumers.

There was also a cap on how much bright dust you could farm from pathfinder weekly previously.

Idk much about the new system, but pathfinder was kinda -blam!-. I would have rather had a ton of new bounties added to the game instead of pathfinder. I never completed more than maybe 1 round of pathfinder a week because it inevitably funnels me into using weapons, elements, or subclasses I just dont enjoy using, so I just dont do it. Atleast with bounties I could delete and grab more random bounties until I get one for gear I actually like to use. They could.

Pathfinder is still available inside Pale Heart at least, was kind of surprised to see it when I was grinding for class items earlier, but it's there.
