Each one seems to reference something in the game, so I decided to share them here. The Sun looks like the last one left and will come tomorrow, so I will update this post with their message when it comes out: [b]Mercury (?)[/b] One Weapon in our hands, spear and shield against the end. "Seven mighty souls and seven mighty hosts" that they describe as "architects of the game", and "eight wills in waiting" and "a cycle unbroken by time". I can't guess as to the Seven. Ever since Shadowkeep, the Gardener and Winnower have been considered the "architects of the game", so to speak, since they introduced Light and Darkness into reality and are embodiments of ontological dynamics. Now, we've got not just Seven Souls, but Seven Hosts to go along with them. I'd be blown away if this was a tease for a new faction, if it isn't meant to be metaphorical about something else. As to the Eight Wills in Waiting, it is likely wrong, but it could reference members of the Nine and the Emissary. The Emissary was once a "shared voice" between them, but "a torn toy" could refer to how she freed herself from their services. Meanwhile, the Weapon by both Mercury and Neptune could refer to their chosen replacement for Orin. Why one of them would be left out, I don't know. ---------------------- EDIT: The Sun is now up. Lucky for me, Bungie is posting these on Bluesky because I don't want to touch the Site Formerly Known as Twitter with a 39 1/2-foot pole. The "butterfly wings" they are talking about are most likely the Guardians and their hope of using paracausality to change their destiny. The phrase itself references the [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect]Butterfly Effect[/url] in Chaos Theory, where an event as small as a butterfly flapping its wings at one point in time and in one place can cause a tornado to occur at a later time in a different place. I actually made [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/263896661]a post discussing Chaos Theory[/url] in relation to Destiny 2's lore last year, and the Sun, a member of the Nine, bringing this up made me think about how this relates to them as a whole. We know they began existence as dark matter pulled into loops by the gravities of Sol and the planets, and for the longest time "I am I am I am" was all they could comprehend. That life left mass-shadows in the wind of the Nine, plucking at them like harp strings. From these trembles of structure the Nine learned to seed enormous resonating waves, thoughts vaster than worlds.[/b] So the Nine awoke. And in time they understood that they were as fragile as they were mighty; for if the life that seeded their thoughts ever passed away, they too would vanish.[/i] The tiny variations within the dark matter loops caused by life's complexity reverberated until they awakened the Nine to awareness and power. We may as well be butterflies compared to the Nine, but the "flapping of our wings" gave them consciousness, and Sun hopes that this same flapping can one day "flap them off course" from a predetermined fate of death.
