Grinding the Campaign IS Content... not bait, think about it... think for yourself.

Grinding the campaign IS content. Are there gamers here? I'm wondering. Difficulty settings, often with mechanical and enemy behavior differences & density. Like Golden Eye or Perfect Dark? Most action games. All ARPGs I've ever played.... Baldur's Gate... strategy and tactical rpgs. Borderlands, you know when you're leveling you'll farm the same campaign boss over and over because you figured out how to nuke them in 25 secs? The Witcher 3... I have every ending, played through every path... and a Death March (Scaling -where you'll never over level enemies) with no HuD before the 60fps update. "New Game+". "New Game++". Grinding the Campaign IS LITERALLY COnTENT! In what 85% of every game? Metroid-vania... grinding the campaign, Portal... grinding the campaign. I blame micro plastics 😅, or have you all forgotten every game you played... ever?

    • That’s an old school perspective, before broadband internet….but yes. You had to engage with the game creatively because there was not a stream of new things to do. You either learned to have fun with what was there…or you had to find something else to do.

      • I don’t mind replaying content if I am enjoying it or simply grinding for a particular weapon. I am just not overly enthused about rolling around in an electric ball shape through much of the content. I will wait and see how it goes, but for the first time ever, I will not be buying a new Destiny DLC. Certain core aspects of the game I enjoyed in the past have either disappeared or been left unattended and stale. I am looking forward to Borderlands 4 and The Outer Worlds 2, but will be keeping tabs on the new DLC and dabbling in some free to play activities for now.

      • What Bungie showed has not peeked my interest, and the trailer that dropped cemented it. My money is going towards other games that are coming out.

        • I absolutely enjoy grinding/ replaying campaigns like that of doom eternal. Esp on higher difficulties. I’ve finished it on normal, ultra violence and no I’m doing nightmare. However doom eternal is one of the most engaging and intense shooters I’ve ever played, my hands are literally shaking after some fights and I can barely do my weapon swaps without botching them. On the other hand, d2 is NOWHERE near as engaging as actually good campaigns. Majority is just filler slop which is genuinely incredibly boring. It’s basically what you do while you have a second monitor up watching YouTube. Plus there aren’t that many ways to speed up or optimise stuff like capturing a plate for the millionth time. The tfs campaign was a bit more creative but still not replay worthy. Judging by the lacklustre quality of their previous campaigns and the snoozefest of the livestreams, I doubt it will be interesting enough to replay. Just a boring slog that is basically a chore.

          • sadly you are talking to a wall, the zombie toddler community will probably cry even if a game puts out new activity every single day

I'm low key excited for the story playlist, that's a positive feature from D1 they finally brought over, hopefully it has good rewards They are trying to turn D2 into an actual MMORPG, but the problem is they have been conditioning the community torward more casual gameplay systems, now they are hitting reverse suddenly And the community is rejecting it Just like there has been sunsetting quietly over the years, in the form of better weapons and perks, you can still use inferior weapons if you choose to, but not many do, and the result is the same as hard sunsetting

            • Way to compare The Witcher 3-campaign with the D2-campaign lol. You people are really something.
