Some of my Clan are playing D1 because it’s more Fun than D2 currently.
As above, and it’s a complete Story, none of this retired/sunset/vaulted bull💩

D1 had a sunset Including exotic weapons (how is pocket infinity doing btw ?) And pvp is a mess after the ammo economy changes. Pve is funnier because its harder but it gets old quickly. Ive been there i did every d1 raids a couple times not so long ago.

Get on d1 right now and pull out any gun from year 1 and see how high you can infuse it up 😂 now remember d1 only had 3 years of content, and witch queen is about to be as old as year 1 is in d1 right now. You all act like BL was the first time this happened when it happened in d1 and not a soul cared, because people used to enjoy having new stuff to grind. What happened since then?

3 RepliesI haven't gone back to D1 in quite a while but I like having it there. I've had it installed on PS(4&5) & Xbox(360-SX) continuously since it was released. I'm hoping for a revamped PC version that incorporates D2 up to at least Forsaken (and includes the Dinklebot option where possible for a true OG experience). Maybe after Sony put Bungie where they belong, it will happen. Sony does love their remasters.

I haven’t been on In ages but sometimes I’ll go on for a bit and do the proper prison of elders, still a better intro to the game than d2.

I revisit D1 every once and a while cause it’s still a good game I still see some people around when I play too which is cool

Love taking a step back in time to D1. The 30fps can be ruff at first but it levels out with some nice Merlot 😉 And no DCV. Everything is right there, from vanilla to Rise of Iron.

Edited by Sir Wrinklebutt: 6/16/2025 5:36:55 PMI am one of the op's clan mates, back on D1, using series x, yes, 30fps was awkward for a day, got used to it now, started a new character from scratch, been having a blast, old school shooter, no stupid timers, puzzles, symbols or champions, no dictated loadouts, pure shooter, still get your -blam!- kicked if you don't pay attention, prison of elders and other arena's, awesome fun .. Fed up of the D2 Bungie bullshit ... Crossplay would be so nice though, have a friend from PS who has borrowed his sons xbox 1 so he can join us ..

6 RepliesSo some are playing a game that isn’t updated and not playing a game that is updated… You seem to play a lot so don’t you want new loot that matters over the majority of loot you gained by playing years ago? Old weapons and armor will be viable to use as you chase new gear to replace it. I don’t understand the logic of grinding characters to 2040 plus power and being upset that you’ll have better gear to grind in a month.

4 RepliesDude if they remastered D1 with say 60 fps, an FoV slider, mantling, no sprint lock, etc… I would totally play it over this hot mess. Still getting the subclass unlocked bug after 3 years btw.

Every once in a while, I go back to D1…pootle about for a bit…maybe grab some old toys…or just gaze deeply into my vault - packed to the rafters with D1 goodies! 😎 Happy days! That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡

I like to go back when it's Combined Arms on the PvP rotation. Easily the best Destiny game mode ever. But: It can take some minutes to get a game (same as D2). Games start without full teams (same as D2). And players can seem to teleport (Same as D2 - but there it's lag, here it's lag and cheats). But the maps are huge, the weapons are powerful, there are vehicles and, best of all, there are Sparrow Horns!!! 'Aaaah-Oooo-Gaaaaah!'

I cannot go back to D1 after playing D2. The QoL changes alone make me greatly dislike the feel of the older game.
