Ultimatum is not enjoyable
For once I’d just like to see an event that isn’t a cringe grind or set to the max level of annoying and Top tier BS.
Just to get some good loot not in all of Destiny 1 did this level on aggravation lead me to not want to play this any further I’m tired of getting content I just can’t complete MYSELF or at least have realistic goals.
Sick 🤢 f catering to content creators and streamers just to keep them From moving away from the game and stop making content and stop promoting it are you that scared of losing the publicity ?

2 RepliesToo much Neomuna Overtuna in way too many ‘easy’ modes, for this old tortoise, eg, Dungeons on ‘Explore’ mode. Caveat: normally, I steer clear of endgame modes…especially since BHQ raised the floor, and seem to keep raising it. It’s just not how I like to relax! Though I did try Explore mode on Nether, which I (mostly) enjoyed. Spire - did it…but didn’t enjoy it. GotD - never bothered with it. Prophecy - farmed the first checkpoint way back before Explore mode, couldn’t face the rest of it as it was just too much, too crazy, too overtuned. Prophecy on Explore - cleared it…didn’t care for it. I’m okay with the weapons that have dropped. I don’t crave the shiniest of shinies…the basic base level with the desired rolls are what I play for…that, and a bit of bounty hunting! 👻 CCs are a necessary source of ‘how to’ information and other bits of entertainment; we all have our own favourite few, I’m sure! The mind numbing efforts required to put the hours in, and output content, ain’t easy…I don’t begrudge them or their efforts, nor their ‘rewards’… 🤑✅ Hardcore PvE / PvP Ninjas - as described in another post in this thread (by Ben, I think?!), ie, the number of Day 1 Raider Teams who are NOT CCs or Streamers, is an eye-opener indeed. Kudos to them all! 😎✅ Horses for Courses…that’s my take! 👈 That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖

You're right about ultimatum being annoying. It honestly isn't even that difficult. Just a bunch of minor inconveniences that stack up. The spire wyvern not walking back into the room when you're ready to shoot the final node. Simmumah not teleporting even though you've been staring through the ring for 2 minutes. Making light/dark motes when you're clearly standing in the opposite. I don't know if it is intentional or not, but I've noticed in ultimatum Prophecy, shadows just flat out don't exist.

I really enjoyed it, and so honestly thought that it could have been harder (it didn't feel like contest level content).

1 Replythen don't play? ultimatum is made for the good players that likes challanges, play eternity same level of base dungeons +modifier and same rewards as ultimatum ( cuz we all know adepts are basically trash). Toddler syndrome hits again

10 RepliesDestiny is no fun for above average players with a life, it's catered more nowadays to content creators or players that have too much spare time on there hands to commit to just one game . And just a quick look at your characters shows your deffo an above average player

Yeah the event sucks, and ultimatum sucks harder. It’s cool for people who’ve never really had a dungeon team before. And the idea behind matchmaking and in-activity tutorials is a step in the right direction. But it’s unfortunate it took the game being on life support in order for them to implement some of these features, almost 11 years late now. I wanted adept holofoils at the start of this— but I’ve largely said -blam!- it now. It’s not worth the time. Switch 2 just dropped, and we have a serious Game of the Year contender in Death Stranding 2 out in a week. Destiny’s going on the back burner for a while for me.

Ultimatum has no meaningful extra reward it is only there for the challenge for the sake of a challenge because a lot of players seek that out and want the option, that does not mean that you have to do it. The classic "the game is catered to streamers"... eventually you guys will realize that the people who stream are a 1% minority of the hardcore destiny community. Try this on for size: world's first for the past two new raids and dungeons were not streamers. They are just good players and there are tens of thousands of them. Heres a number for you, 3,700 teams beat salvation's edge on contest mode, a feat that set the best apart from the rest; the week 1 TFS grind leading up to the raid was insane and it ended up being the most gruelling day 1 raid ever. That's 22,000 elite, best of the best players, rounding down to an even 20 to account for cheaters and reclears. How many of those do you think are streamers? Have a scroll through the day 1 leaderboard and see how many names you recognize. https://raid.report/leaderboard/worldsfirst/salvationsedge/normal I'll help you out it will be almost none. Just looking at the top 100, Skarrow9 and vendetta were third, Salt was 7th, aztecross was 41st, Aegis and Gigz were 87th. Everyone else in the top 100, who are all insane players who were not only able to beat the hardest day 1 raid of all time but go so far as to place in the double digits, are regular players like you and I. Not the evil content creators that you made up in your head to be mad at.

Personally, I think these Ultimatum / contest mode-esq activities are the funniest activities in the game. Literally every event other than Pantheon and ROT9 is super casual and as difficult as a patrol area. These events give those that missed the opportunity to play the contest mode release an opportunity to play that content. You also can play the content at any difficulty for the rewards being offered. Though higher quality items require higher challenges - which is the way it should be. Not all events are intended appease every demographic of the community the same way or at the same time. They have events for solos, PvP focused events, vehicle themed event, holiday events, PvE arena events, and now we have contest mode event and not every player is going to enjoy all of those events equally. Variety is the spice of life and not everyone has to love everything the studio tries - it’s just gotta be popular enough to continually bring in a healthy player population.

I know that the players that believe that hard = fun will disagree with my point of view but my problem is the rewards and the actual challenges I am not really interested in the guns, as they aren’t something i particularly see myself using but the only reward I want is the shader, which is behind two ultimatums, so to me I have to do the hardest content… for a shader. I dismantle any of the guns I get most of the time since I either don’t need them or just don’t find them useful and the emblems are.. okay, but nothings I want. So the entire rite of the nine event for me is a shader which I want to give up on since it’s not even close since the difficulty does not equal the reward

1 ReplyDoes no one remember D1 raids. Kings Fall literally required perfect execution, or it was an instant wipe. Hell, in the hardest difficulty, outside of self res, you were unable to get rezzed, and as a result, it would count as an instant wipe if you died.

The Ultimeatum is a cheeseburger stuffed inside a cheeseburger with two deep fried cheeseburgers as buns, and then we add our special ketchup that we get from the Himalayas. Anyone who doesn't eat one, is a chump!

Dude, relax. It’s the hardest mode, it’s meant to be a slog. And not everyone is meant to beat it. Try the easier one next time. Why aggravate yourself playing something you don’t like and then blame someone else? You’re an adult act like it

Well, look on the bright side, it's all getting functionally sunset in a few weeks anyhow, so you've lost nothing of any value anyhow.
