So let me explain, when I was the ripe age of 15, I thought it was cool to be an edgy exo. Looking back, this was a big mistake IMO. I regret it to this day.
Why not recreate the character?
1 reason, Subclass grind and resubmitting builds.
Let us change our origin, do it for silver, new journey, new beginning.
However if the destiny community is kind enough
Is there a way to save my builds on an external API and then submit it again? If that's the case, I will redo it again. It's not just builds, also fashion, the true endgame.
So demand: origin change
Solution from my fellow forum dwellers if it exists: external API to save builds
Can't be damned to regrind strand again but hey, what can we do

When the announcement was made that players would be able to freely change their Appearance the devs went out of their way to say that there would be no option to switch Origins and didn’t even suggest the possibility that this would be made available at a later date. This suggests that during their initial testing to implement these changes they ran into one or more issues that occurred when swapping Origins which they determined could not be realistically addressed without an unreasonable amount of work. In the effort to conserve both time and memory space while making video games, it is not uncommon to have particular lines of code refer to others that at surface level are seemingly unrelated (this should be readily apparent for anyone who follows speedrunning and has heard explanations for how certain glitches/bugs occur). Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, that while initially developing the game the devs realized they had a number of operations that needed to refer to a constant value somewhere within the code that would remain unchanged during gameplay. One of them chooses the value that represents a character’s Origin, figuring that because it is set at character creation and there would likely never be a need to change it in the future that this value would be a good constant to for various other lines of code to reference. As there have been several years of incremental, interconnected additions made to the game since release, in our hypothetical situation it could be the case that allowing players to freely alter this single entry in the code to which a number of operations refer for a constant value could lead to a number of problems. All this to say that rather than arbitrarily deciding to allow players to change all of their character creation choices except Origin, that there is the possibility that the devs realized there was an issue preventing Origin changes from being implemented but came to the conclusion that it shouldn’t scuttle the plans to let players freely swap the other options.
