Really smart. Fishermen caught one in their net. They put a crab in a screw lid jar and showed it to the octopus. It immediately got onto the jar, unscrewed it, ate the crab and crawled over to the boat's scupper and left. Took around 30 seconds. Crab, however, was pissed.
