After owning it for one day, here are my initial thoughts:
It’s just a more powerful Switch. That’s what every new gen Xbox and PlayStation has always been, but Nintendo is always so creative with their new consoles that it is a tad disappointing that it feels so same-y. That’s being said, the Switch 1 was the culmination of decades of innovation for Nintendo, and the design they came up with was the best they had ever made. So there’s not much of a need to change what was already perfect.
As it is just a more powerful Switch, Nintendo has no reason not to allow every Switch 1 game to run at 60 fps and higher resolution on the Switch 2 besides laziness and greed.
I wish there were a couple more launch titles. I don’t want an unfinished game to be released too early, but having Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title would have been awesome.
Right now I’m just enjoying finally finishing Tears of the Kingdom after not playing it for a couple years. It genuinely is a more fun experience being able to hold a stable 60 fps on my 1440p monitor. That and Mario Kart should keep my occupied enough until Metroid Prime 4 comes out, and then, eventually, The Duskbloods.

I'm going to play Metroid prime 4 on my switch one and proceed to wait to get one used because poor... and I have lost almost all faith in Nintendo...
