I honestly haven’t really touched this game since the beginning of May. Been playing other games that I missed out on. Idk. I feel like everything I worked for with my stats is just going down the drain. Now we are resetting power levels. AGAIN. Edit - I already pre-ordered but I’ve been seeing a lot people stating online of how much the new system blows. They just do not like the new system regarding how stats are distributed and used.

Sad part is that I just watched Azetcross video and Bungie said they have no future plans for Prismatic yet, WTH so you created a class built from other subclasses and yet you have no future plans for it and current subclasses this make me know this class was rushed out and yet continuously give us random abilities and putting the best buff on the artifacts so we can't improve abilities, exotics that are heavily dated and underwhelming.

    • It’s the same stuff we’ve been doing for years but now in one map we can turn into a ball. It doesn’t exactly add anything new to generate “fun”. I will play it (after buying it cheaper because it’s not worth $40) when my friends play, but only because there aren’t better looter shooters out there.

      • I'm not interested in the new system. New weapon system, point and stat distribution new gear system, and new 'menu' to select quests and destinations , not sure what it will be called. You can put lipstick on a pig all you want.. It's still the same pig. Only this time, you cut one of the legs off and replaced it with a wooden peg.

      • I'm taking a "wait and see" approach. The changes may not be so bad or as drastic as the strangers are making it out to be and if it's not for me then I'll just take it as a jumping off point. That said: Bungie should have used it as an opportunity to launch it as Destiny 2.5 (or similar) so that they could move away from last gen tech while appeasing those who want to stay with the old system.

      • It's just more of the same, they just sunset our gear, we're still fighting the Fallen lol, ten years later. Destiny will be run by a skeleton crew that reuses assets over, and over, and over. I'm gonna cancel my preorder when I get home tonight.

      • I'm one of 'those' day one D1 players and EoF- yeah no longer Destiny. Plus we have seen how much they care about us as players of Destiny. So I choose to remember the good times and have am,tillthey show me better, am done. Having said that I have no issues jumping back into the good ole days of D1! Turns out there's more then a few others in there playing!!!

      • The decision to continue is up to everybody himself to decide. I'm sorry for the state the game is in. I meet some incredible players. Players I had contact with every evening. Brilliant raiders and really decent people. But most of them are gone now. The last time I was in the game was February 13th. Destiny 2 is uninstalled. And I doubt I want it back. All that seesaw, chaos, sunsetting, and content vault - no, thanks. Bungie's exactly with their small content packages where they were back with Activision. Again. As if they learned nothing. From my perspective, greed destroyed the company. Barrett, Parsons and so on: unbelievable... Have a good one, everybody!

        • At the moment its 50/50. Entirely depends on what else they reveal in the coming weeks. Obviously this doesnt apply to most but I would say that majority of players feel like this probably.

        • I agree with the negative comments regarding the big changes, but in addition to that, it's these infuriating puzzle style detriments shown in several streams, and are usually confined to dungeons, that has completely turned me off. This is supposed to be Destiny, and if I wanted to play as a Tinker Bell character, I would go and play Adventures in Neverland. Stop putting childish gimmicks in campaigns 🤬

Everything I’ve seen so far is a whole bunch of meh. Endless grind is not very appealing to me anymore, I think ten yrs was enough. Everyone I know that still plays this game is on the fence. For many of us the whole reason we spent so much time grinding weapons and armour was to prepare for the new raid or dungeon, with only one new raid and one new dungeon the whole yr I’m finding it hard to give crap, my motivation for grinding at all was just cut in half.

        • I voted no. I pre ordered because I can afford to but I am refunding. The cost of Edge of Fate, against what we are getting along with the grind getting ridiculous is just not worth it for me. I get nothing but bad vibes for Destiny's future. I have barely played in the last week, and my playtime has been dropping drastically since the Heresy story finished. I am enjoying other games and Destiny is just not on my radar anymore.

No, bungie only wants the addicted ,streamers, paid sherpas/carry services and new lights that have no clue of bungies past and won't lose out from sunsetting only gain Bungie has made it clear they do not want the players that have been loyal to the game unless streamers or addicted ,mainly because they are aware the loyal average mass playercount of players are the ones that call bungie out on there bs because you can only fool the same person so many times if your lucky and loyal players are starting to wake up and see bungie for what they truly are ,so it's easier to get rid of them and only cater to the gullible/addicted or streamers Put it this way soon as I saw the 3 star wars armor sets which would add upto 60$ in the store, I realised the whole dlc /seasons etc will 40$ dollars worth of really bad content ,bungie atm are banking on people paying for ornaments over decent content Smoke and mirrors with sunsetting that bungie stated clearly wouldn't happen again so they decided to use the approach of soft sunsetting instead

It doesn’t seem like it will be for me. I’m playing the wait and see game, but also have no expectations. The majority of how they facilitated permanent build crafting opportunities from the WQ-TFS era is coming to a halt. It’s already started with the loss of meaningful bad luck protection and targeting agency via crafting. The continued support through additions to subs was amazing. We saw the continued introduction of new aspects, new abilities, new supers, even new subclasses, every expansion/season. Now instead of continuing with that trend, we are seeing temporary destination gimmick abilities instead, with nothing new at all for any subs. How enough people thought that was a good idea, that spending time and resources on temporary instead of new permanent additions to subs was a good idea, is beyond me. A major criticism of the seasonal model became one about temporary throwaway activities. Now we’re seeing that with abilities? Why? Again, who thought that was a good idea? We’re also seeing this “soft sunsetting” of gear as it’s being called. I don’t play games like Diablo largely for that reason. I played Destiny because it DIDN’T do any kind of resets like that. They did a big reset once and it was VERY poorly received. Why do anything even remotely similar again? Temporary buffs for gear that get upgraded with a new temporary resource. I thought we agreed that temporary stuff was a problem? I agree that armor needed something to make drops worth chasing again, but the reason for chasing should be the set bonuses, not because of temporary buffs. The burning to the ground of crafting instead of balancing and expanding upon it in meaningful ways was already a huge red flag for me. Revenant/Heresy is the first time I didn’t complete content that I paid for and that was because the weapon chase became SO rigid and boring again and I lost the ability to earn on demand experimentation. This is the first time I have uninstalled the game and I am passing on EoF as it stands now. The story will probably be cool but the gameplay looks and sounds tedious and uninspired. It’s like they decided to deal with apathy and burnout in the most artificial and least compelling ways imaginable.

        • Nothing new is coming, you just have to grind.again, a new gear system which is at the end the same -blam!-....seasonal boring stuff.... if you like that buy it

        • Please take everything on here with a grain of salt. This forum has a lot of lurkers that like to hate on things. The best way I could describe Edge of Fate is: - Are you enjoying D2 right now? - Would you enjoy playing a D3? Edge of Fate is basically Destiny 2.5. Massive amount of core system updates and changes, but not a complete restart. It’s supposed to be an onboarding event for new/returning players.

You’ll be as close as you can to other players as you can be without a total reset. Old gear and their stats are not going anywhere. They’re being converted to the new stat system with their stats totals and distribution intact.

            • It kind of depends on your attachment to your gear. If you don't hold a particularly strong attachment to your weapons and armor, the fact that such a huge upheaval is coming shouldn't bother you. If you value what you have and don't feel particularly interested in changing, I can see how you wouldn't like it and it might not be worth your time. I'm not a min max type of player, and none of my gear means anything to me, so the fact that things are changing doesn't bother me, since it's not really gonna change how I operate. As long as I'm able to kill the thing in front of me I'll be fine, but I also understand that most of you aren't like me in this regard. I'm gonna play it regardless, because it's a way to kill time until I die, and that's all games are to me.
