constant beaver errors on ps5 - game unplayable

I just bought the Destiny collection on ps5 yesterday, as I played the original game years ago on xbox and was feeling nostalgic. I have fast internet speeds that can handle streaming Destiny 2 in busy areas at peak times with no issues at all. But in Destiny, I can’t even touch down in the tower without getting a beaver error message, the vendor icons don’t even get a chance to load in. The advice on the official help page recommends switching to open NAT (I am on moderate) but I’ve seen lots of people that this doesn’t work for, and doesn’t that leave all of your devices vulnerable to security attacks? Being able to play Destiny doesn’t at all justify the risks of having an open NAT, and I’m shocked the official page is recommending this without a disclaimer on the risks involved. I am able to load in if I connect to an ethernet cable, but that isn’t a long-term solution as my console is far from the router, and I have to run the wire through the house. So far I’ve been doing just fine on all of my other mmos with a wired access point close to my console and wireless connection, I’ve genuinely never played a video game that demands such high network requirements, and with such a small player base too? I’ve tried restarting my console, clearing my cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It’s really weird, because I don’t remember having these issues years ago on Xbox 360 with slower connection and older hardware, is there something about the sony servers in particular that make it buggier or is it the same across platforms? I’m thinking about seeing if I can get a refund because the game is completely unplayable for me now, but sony is real picky with that sort of thing. I genuinely have never had any issues like this before, it’s really surprised me. I’m not sure why Destiny’s servers throw so many errors compared to Destiny 2, but it’s really disappointing, and I see lots similar posts about it on the subreddit. I hope it gets fixed at some point, if it’s even being looked into [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to the #Help forum where you can find answers and troubleshoot any Destiny in-game/bungie.net/companion app issues, courtesy of other helpful players and Mentors.
