Bungie has never and will never ban anyone for using cheating hardware devices - only software cheating is bannable (about 2 months after the fact). Even DrLupo used … back in D1 openly. Bungie took a strong stance against devices a couple years ago and then followed that up by doing absolutely nothing lol. The amount of device users would surprise some of you, especially on console. These devices don’t make players all of a sudden amazing (I know several terrible device crutches) but it is cheating nonetheless. I wish I could name and shame to show receipts.

Please don't spread false information nor encourage others, directly or otherwise, in using cheating devices. Bungie has been clear on their stance and users are banned; a cursory glance through the forums will let you see topics of people being "unfairly banned". If you run into someone cheating, please report them. Some people don't get caught immediately, and reporting them does help. Official stance below. Locking this thread. Bungie takes reports of suspected cheating very seriously. If you suspect someone is cheating, the best course of action is to use the in-game report tool and report the suspected player. Additionally, Bungie has also provided a report tool online which can be accessed with the following link: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13967#contact Please be sure to read through all of Bungie’s reporting guidelines before issuing a report.
