All these changes to power will hurt the Game in the long run and all the changes are good for armour and gear but this hamster wheel with power grinding come on bungie this is ridiculous people just complain about power creep this is what bungie does makes us even weaker than we were before Diablo has done this division 2 tried this

It's just a number. Technically they could get rid of all power numbers and make activities easy, normal ,hard ,GM.
-
The games on life support, Bungie just needed a reason to kill it. Lots of fun games out there.

We got rid of "big number bigger" and the addicts crashed out. The season without "big number bigger" was the best because you could play the game without having to turn tricks under the tower stairs just to engage with the game. Now with "expiring shards" this looks worse. They even got rid of legendary shards so we'd have "less currency", then added another currency.

I think with the new power system there is pros and cons. Pros: Can level up without a limit no more cringe weekly lockout Can focus specific drops for power through the portal so way less RNG on levelling Seemingly can overlevel content again though will be limited to anything under the power cap so ultimate difficulty will have you underlevel I think but others can be overlevelled to an extent. Cons: Regrinding to access the same activities you were playing just the previous season Seasonal currency for infusion means things like cores are less useful, seriously they need to do away with the unstable cores and just use enhancement cores as we need more ways to spend them tbh. iirc effects certain reward ratings if your power is lower you get less rewards. It really depends honestly how it works but even with no weekly limit it could get real tiring running the same 5 activities on loop to gain power.

Power is entirely arbitrary.

Agree the changes look horrible
-
It probably will, but the fanboy addicts will keep cheering Bungie on until the lights go out. 🤷

The taken king was a complete reset and it was a massive success.
-
Power level reset wont impact your power at all. Its just modifying the values because we are too high. But in reality it changes nothing besides making numbers look less absurd.

Power level reset will do nothing to change the number of players. You’ll play it and so will I. Power level reset means functionally pretty much nothing. -
Nah we need it. Good to have a reset button. Spice it up you know?

Give it a week someone will figure out a fast and easy power grind trick. The way I see it is I'll hit 200 easy than focus on getting to 300 and I'm set as that should allow me to get T3s easy enough and I'll be set for the majority of stuff plus I'll slowly rise in power after that just by playing naturally and thus at the second month mark power grind will become a background thing. Than that's four months of power growth than back to 200 where I spend like a week getting back to 300.

Edited by Guardian,Archon Of Light: 6/9/2025 12:18:45 PM300 or 2020, content will still be the same fixed difficulty , people are freaking out about nothing It won't matter, just a superficial grind to continue to appear like this game still has charachter progression, when it might has well be Call Of Duty

Eh, i'm not looking forward towards the changes, but like Kratos told Atreus, "Keep your expectations low & you'll never be disappointed..". 🤷♂️

Do you people just forget things once you hear something new? There is still going to be fireteam power, so everyone doesn't need to grind to max power so long as one person has been. If you're going to make the one argument of just removing power altogether, then let me ask this. Without a lower grind, then what's the point of adding new gear ever? Edit: Damn. Imagine getting all of your replies removed.
