What’s going to want us to drop $100 for the deluxe edition? No new subclass / abilities, one destination when we are supposed to be leaving sol, soft core sunsetting of armor / weapons, and a smaller dlc size. Your tiered loot system is free so that’s not a selling point. So tell me bungie and players, what’s making you spend $100 for this dlc?

You like using bark from an oak tree in an attempt to carve a diamond. SIgned, Bungie ( probably )

EoF alone doesn't sell for $100. The version of it that comes with the full years worth of content is the version that sells for 100 and the stuff included in that bundle is the stuff that constitutes the selling point.
-
Wait there's a selling point? 🤣 🤣
-
I’m buying EoF for $40 and I’ll go from there.
-
$100 is for both DLC's and the extra stuff. EoF by itself is $40.

Yeah, there's not much of a selling point - which I've seen echoed by content creators too. The new location doesnt seem that interesting, it's mainly re-used assets and the power grinds seems to heavily depend on old content. They havent even announced a new strike and from what I can gather there wont even be any lost sectors on Keplar - those resources apparently went into solo-opses instead, which I've only seen negative feedback on. The only reason I will still play it is because I stick to one game or don't play at all - sometimes for years at a time. I currently feel somewhat invested and also want to play something and can't be arsed to find a new game. I know, sticking around because of laziness is a bad excuse but that's where I'm at.

Who in their right mind - in 2025 - would even drop 100 bucks on Destiny's DLC in the first place... like LOL bruh? Anyway, that new ability looked nice, until I realized it's not a new super or anything. It's just a gimmick to solve puzzles. Cant use it in trials, gambit or onslaught... thats not fun.

I canceled my pre-order. I will be uninstalling. This game doesn't respect your time and the devs heart aren't in it anymore. So long Guardians!

NOTHING - found something better to spend my time on. 10 years of D1&D2 was fun. EoF news just keeps going down hill till now where they are about to plunge over the edge of the world and no Black Pearl to rescue them!

So far nothing is making me want to buy the upcoming dlc. Maybe there’s going to be a big reveal that will show something that makes me want to play it. But I’m not holding my breath waiting.

You can preorder and cancel on most platforms...

Last week I sold my copy of Stella Deus on PS2 for $100. I can justify my purchase of Edge of Fate with that. The selling point for me is being so interested in change (even if that means a soft sun setting.) I’ve found that while things remain dear, there is a certain amount of solace when wiping the slate clean; (more pointed towards my personal life than towards Destiny.) Besides, we don’t have to get rid of any weapon we don’t want to. Disappointed that the crucible isn’t getting any new maps, but I may be in the minority on that one. I think the next year of Destiny 2 is worth $100, not because of the time I’ve already invested, but because of the time I’ll likely spend. If anyone’s on the fence about Destiny 2 this time around, I don’t really know what to say. To new players, hopefully a more enjoyable starting point than what other players have had before. To veterans and long time players, you should already know Destiny 2’s value. (Hint: it’s different to everyone.)

If I remember correctly Keplar isn’t even out of the sol system, just at the very edge of it 😂

You get that much for free in other games

Buying the deluxe edition has always been a gamble, literally every year. When the dlc is being marketed for preorder there is never anything about the raid, dungeon, or any of the seasons, they leave a lot in the air. If you aren't confident then dont preorder the giga turbo deluxe edition.. just get the normal version or dont preorder at all and wait until its out to find out if the selling point is worth your money BEFORE you buy. Preordering, especially this far in advance, should be reserved for the most dedicated players who are making the conscious decision in advance that they will play it no matter what. It shouldnt be the normal thing that the average player does. If you're a casual enjoyer of the game who isn't sure yet, make an informed purchase and buy it later.
