It’s clear the changes to prismatic are unpopular. It’s clear the changes to armor are not universally loved, especially with the knowledge that everything we worked for will essentially be mediocre in the coming meta. Changing the names of stats and losing the flavor that makes this game such a rich experience at times is not going to bring in more new players. That’s not the part of the new player experience that’s a problem. I’m all for making stats increase for every single point of stat, but I’m not for wildly changing up stats after 10 years. I’ve got a build going. I don’t like playing the menu screen game, I’ve probably spent more than 100 hours of my playtime in menu screens build crafting and reading.
Nearly every single time there has been community backlash against a choice you’re thinking of making, you have ended up walking back that decision because it ended up being unpopular and people left.
You’re already hemorrhaging players, and you’re not going to get many of those players back when you tell them “hey remember that really unpopular thing we did that ruined the game for you for like a year (being remarkably generous here) even after the entire community told us no we don’t want that? Well good news for you, we reverted our original decision! Look at us, how we listen to our community.”
How about for once. For ONCE. You actually listen BEFORE you make a bad decision. The feedback is LOUD and CLEAR. We do not like that armor 3.0 and the new weapon tier system invalidates our previous grind. We do not like that prismatic is being nerfed. We do not like everything you are doing to stats. We’ve shown that we are more than willing to wait if it means a better product in the end, do you even have a conception of how much communal goodwill you stand to gain if you decide to listen??
Edge of Fate is a good name for this expansion Bungie, because I believe it is where your company currently stands. I think if you go through with the many unpopular changes you have suggested, this may very well be the harbinger of your doom, because I doubt it will be very long for you if edge flops. Let me be clear in saying I do not wish for bungie to fail, but I do not want them to be rewarded for ignoring the community yet again.

Edited by TripleF73: 6/7/2025 1:20:15 PMI agree with almost everything you’ve said. Except for the fact that you do not wish them to fail. If they go through with these changes to the grind, weapons and armour they fully deserve the fate that awaits them. I think Bungie are creatively bankrupt. We can get into the reasons why but quite frankly I don’t care anymore about “why”. I am not spending all my time in ultimatum activities to get weapons and armor that are going to net an extra 10-15% damage or damage resistance for 6 months and then start all over again in renegades. Those that can spot the patterns absolutely know this is an all new gilded hamster wheel of a grind. And I’m not participating. They aren’t refreshing any raid content with this so only new stuff will drop from the new raid. If it’s anything like Salvation’s Edge or Root of Nightmares then they can stick the new raid where the sun doesn’t shine. Root is too easy and SE is too complex and time consuming. But this company has no idea what a happy medium is or how to get new players actively involved in endgame activities. Which is why the more casual player-base has left in droves. I’m going to wait and see. I doubt Bungie are going to change their mind, or delay this DLC. They’ve yet again listened to the wrong people about the direction of the game imho. Quite frankly I’d like to see Bungie get dismantled by Sony and only keep those that are competent. Then see if DE will work with Sony and the remaining members of Bungie to fix this franchise. At least DE listen to their community and Warframe is the better for it.
