Bungie this is absolutely absurd. Nerfing the already weakest class in pve by nerfing gamblers dodge.
In EOF hunters will need at least 70 melee stat for gamblers dodge to fully refund your melee charge what a joke. So gamblers dodge is just a class ability that does absolutely NOTHING in pve unless you invest into an armor stat. While warlocks can just heal on demand and titans can barricade with no draw backs at all what a joke. This needs to not happen.
Every day I hear a new horrible update that’s coming with EOF.
Update - this isn’t just for Hunter it’s for everything that refunds melee like hammer throw etc smh

Unironcally would rather them just leave the game as is

Glad someone else is talking about this, it's ridiculous! And for the biased Warlock and Titan mains who think this is deserved, like OP said, it's going to affect bonk hammer too. It would be like if Healing Rift didn't heal you unless you had at least 70 Health stat, or Barricades crumpled like tissue paper unless you had 70 Health, or something like that. None of the other class's class abilities are getting their performance tied to another stat, and neither should Hunter's.

Gamblers has been the most busted thing about the Hunter kit since it’s inception.

After all that's been revealed this is your take away? 🤣

Edited by Eatz: 6/8/2025 9:12:22 PMBased on the fact that you can have multiple stats be close to if not AT 200, is it just me who thinks hitting 70 in a stat sounds extremely easy?
-
from what i'm getting everything work like that. gamblers dodge, combination blow, hammer pick up on titan. is there anything else i forgot? maybe apotheosis? hope not
-
I mean, as a 10 year long hunter main I'm fine with that change. Gamblers dodge made it so that as long as you had specced into your class ability you didnt have to specc into the melee stat at all. A melee build should have to use the melee stat. Makes perfect sense to me.
-
I believe it’s designed to curb Combination Blow spamming Like, now it requires some investment. So if your build leans into the melee stat, it’ll work just as well if not better if the stat is 100+. So like, now you can’t just throw Combination Blow and Gamblers dodge on and be nearly unkillable for endgame.
-
Then hit 70 melee stat? Why is building into something such an egregious thing all of a sudden? Committing to a specific stat/playstyle now has higher upsides if you reach 100+ on that stat then it does currently. Reaching 70 of a stat equates to 100 currently. 71+ is a net gain over anything we have now. But we need things to complain about on these forums.

If you don’t care for or are feeling weird about the decisions being made or the apparent direction the studio is taking Destiny - Hold your purchase until after it releases and see what reviews say. Being a month behind isn’t the end of the world. At the end of the day, if you keep away from spoiler sources - it’s only going to make it feel like the amount of content is more dense until Renegades. There’s tons of clans constantly looking to engage with retuning players and get them up to speed.
